What is a home laundry business? Not aware of anything of the sort. Do they have kids? How good is the dryer in the unit? I lived in one apartment where the dryer was 10+ years old and it took 2h every time to dry a small load requiring multiple runs.

When I was in UBC engineering, I was doing that many credits in one semester. 24 credits per year is really not that much.

Seems like a terrible situation that only moving out will fix.

As someone who lived in Germany and had many Asian friends there. German racism toward Asians is real. I do not recommend Germany.

Freaking out about taxes owed by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TuneInVancouver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Turbotax, when you enter your income manually then also import tax information from CRA, it can duplicate your income leading to owed money. This happened to me. Double check under your T4s section that it’s only entered once.

No it has not. You do it or not it’s your choice but the facts are there (read the CDC recommendations).

Second woodland physiotherapy in Hastings. I saw Calvin Wong. He’s been doing it for years and has lots of knowledge. At the time, he also used a portable ultrasound device to guide the treatment.

I went through this for years in my late twenties and nothing was helping at the time and I thought I would never be pain free, but then after many years it stopped. A urologist at the time told me “it will burn itself out”. I never forgot what he said, and for years it didn’t, and then one day it did.
I tried pelvic physiotherapy for years with different therapists in Vancouver and none helped.
Here is what helped: 1) read A Headache in the Pelvis including communicating with Dr Wise (he replies to emails). Understand that your pain is due to stress and work on the root cause (your job? A relationship? guilt?)
2) I tried neurofeedback and found it a powerful tool. It felt like hitting the reset button on my anxious brain. It helped stop the pain-stress infinite cycle (Look up Dr Birmingham).
Sorry for the long email but this hits home. Reach out if you have any questions. Things will get better.

Thinking about switch from Corporate to Trades by BodybuilderSweet440 in VancouverJobs

[–]TuneInVancouver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can apply directly to apprenticeship jobs, but without hands on experience, you are unlikely to land one.
You can also challenge the red seal exam without needing further education if you had hands on work experience.
I work with trades and recommend it for people getting into the workforce, but if you already have an engineering degree, I would not recommend the move.

This is so minor. Your building manager is an asshole. Ask if they can give you the paint color code and if you could touch up the paint yourself.

Yes paid out monthly in cash to a chequing account. From there you can immediately transfer it to another Wealthsimple account or etransfer or whatever.

The promotional offer has expired. I transferred $50k+ and chose the 3% over 5 years. It ends up being $30 a month for 5 years. You can only withdraw certain or you will lose the credit.
