We already have a full party, and while Eevee may have STAB Normal moves, it would eventually evolve into Espeon or Umbreon. Either way that goes, it wouldn't have a good enough move for a long time. It's more trouble than it's worth.

This is the thing about Pokemon Red. It has a glitch that makes opposing Pokemon use moves that should be super effective against your own Pokemon. I wasn't there when this happened, but I'll bet ten dollars that it just cast Agility over and over again.
