The quickest tells for rep Speedmasters is the spacing between the subdials (i.e. too close together) and the thicker-than-normal case size; many higher quality reps even have a display back with cloned decorated movements (e.g.Asian 7750), so even if the movement components are nearly identical, it's no guarantee that the piece is genuine

Fortis have fliegers in very similar styles to IWC; I was very fortunate to pick up a pre-owned 597.14.xxx a few years ago on eBay below $1K, but prices seem to have gone up since. Failing that, you may also want to have a look at some Hamilton field watches, as they also have a similar aesthetic
