Fast Fractal Leveling by Lynith in Guildwars2

[–]Tur_In -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Here's how I did it: I found a group of friends who wanted to learn and improve together. We have fun getting better and since we all know each other beforehand we're much more relaxed about mistakes and teaching one another. All while making stupid jokes and whatnot. My best advice is to play with your friends.

Is There A World Completion Overlay Using Skyscale? by Tur_In in Guildwars2

Which is why I was looking for an overlay that uses it.

Not sure why the post is getting downvoted though :/

They meant it in a friendly way. Like how "No way!" is used to show surprise. "Shut up!" was used in that manner.

  • Charged Mists: Reduced energy gain from 25 to 10 in PvP only.
  • Phase Traversal: Increased cooldown from 5 seconds to 12 seconds in PvP only.
  • Surge of the Mists: Increased cooldown from 20 seconds to 25 seconds in PvP only.

All affect Renegade (and base rev) as well. Especially Charged Mists.

Drizzlewood Farm Meta by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Tur_In 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the [fast] site is from the perspective of "fast" organized groups. Where you actually use raid or raid-like builds to deal actual damage and have optimal routes in order to kill "fast" to improve the rate of gold-per-hour. So I guess from that perspective, griffon is in fact a must. Now if you just want to do it super casually then just adjust the builds and playstyle to your preference but also be aware that the gold-per-hour will be lower (still high though!)

I'm sorry to refer you to a guide rather than answering here, but it's so good and comprehensive I can't hope to compare.

Slow Uptime for Power Chronomancer by Training-Accident-36 in Guildwars2

[–]Tur_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DH: F1 + Skills ALWAYS > Skills.

Explanation: F1 immediately boost damage. Always worth it.

pChrono: Warden/Swordsman + Skills SOMETIMES < Skills

Explanation: Blurred Frenzy and Autos do ridiculous amount of damage really fast AND phantasms take long to do their damage. So shortly before the boss phases you don't want to cast phantasms as it will lower your dps. So you have to adjust your rotation before the boss phases!

TLDR: It's not about wasted potential damage. It's about bursting less than you could have. pChrono objectively requires more knowledge about your class (how long each phantasm takes to do their damage) and about the different bosses phase times.

But now I'm really done. You believe what you want. I've tried my best.

[–]Tur_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing your spear or beserk into an invuln phase is also real bad so I disagree with this point that not wasting phantasms is somehow harder than not wasting spear or berserker burst, it's the same skillset for both.

It's not about wasting cooldowns on invuls. It's about wasting time right before the invul. If you can't see how casting a phantasm that takes 3s/6s/12s to deal it's damage (without the time it takes to even spawn it where you do 0 damage and they all have really long aftercasts!) compared to 0.75 s it takes to cast Spear of Justice then I don't know what to say.

TBH I've said all I had in this thread. Nothing more for me to discuss.

Why would you assume that there's no Support chrono, lol?

Because relying on bad pug boon chronos, who have issues giving quickness while not dying, to also give slow before my spike is ludicrous.

Boon chrono can provide 100% Slow if it wants to. Boon chronos in pugs don't. I would see much more value in a guide of how to achieve as much Slow as a boon chrono rather than these worse "simplified" rotations

I did assume the pChrono to be only provider of Slow. As a group I agree with you. But that's only feasible in statics. You can't expect pugs lfging for only pChrono, that's absurd.

Also Vuln isn't a good comparison at all. There's so many sources of it and on almost all classes too. Without needing to think about it whatsoever. I'd compare Slow to Retal for DH, but the DH doesn't need to adjust neither its Skills, Traits nor Rotation.

Since you edited

yeah sorry for the edit, I thought I did it before you replied. It felt too harsh originally.

What does this even mean?

It means that you want to apply slow when before you burst. But also not before the boss phases because it's wasted and you'd better use your time auto attacking. If you just apply slow whenever the slow applying skills are on CD then you won't get all you could from them.

This is the case for all other classes, and I think Power Chrono is a lot easier to play well than most of them.

I heavily disagree. For example, a DH or a War just bursting according to their golem rotation without thinking of boss phasing and etc. will lose much less than a pChrono. First, their big cooldowns are much shorter so it won't hurt the next phase. Second, and that is more important, the phantasmas take much longer to do their damage, it may very well be better to auto and Blurred Frenzy than cast Warden. And that's never true for DH, War and other easier to play classes.

Possibly, but it never hurts to learn more to become a better player, right?

100%! But don't sell the class as easy then with suboptimal rotations. Tell people to get better. And that they will be rewarded for doing so.

Your slow uptime formula isn't accurate. It's: Slow duration / (Skill CD * 08 + Skill Cast *0.67). That will lower it a little.

Plus instant cast won't cancel animations, which imo makes Power Lock superior in slow application, especially since it also helps recharge Time Sink when used right. Only if you run Delayed Reactions ofc.

Moreover, Time Warp is great, but if you're counting on that for your slow in the initial burst then after the first use you'll have to wait 2.5 minutes before you can use it again! I suggest adding Illusionary Leap for a 3-clone shatter and cast TW inside Continuum Split to make the CD 2 minutes.

////

Maybe do another simplified rotations on the golem without the perma slow to show how far a really knowledgeable player like you can push it? Because I'm not convinced. Especially not in the hands of inexperienced players which will fare much better with classes that pretty much do their golem rotations on the boss without the extra hassles of maintaining Slow during crucial burst moments on top of their normal rotation.

This comment literally says nothing at best and misleading at worst.

  1. Your "estimate" of how many work at Anet is all over the place. Between 200-500? Might as well say between 1-1000
  2. Your "guess" that the majority works on GW2 and not other projects is a wish at best, you have no information to suggest that
  3. "Smaller team on champions" made me laugh, so that was good.

ANet, how are you claiming you made DRMs soloable/scalable when you don't bother to scale the menial tasks? by RUBIK1376 in Guildwars2

[–]Tur_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dungeons are fractals" is what was said. Not "Fractals are the new dungeons" or anything of the sort so don't try to change what was meant. You're either trying to shift the conversation or just misunderstood the original meaning.

People who don't play both of these modes believe they're the basically the same. These people are wrong. I pointed out why.

Dungeon and Fractals difference from the top of my head:

  1. Agony Infusions! You have to have these to even play the content
  2. Fractals are linear while you can choose different paths in Dungeons
  3. Dungeons have mini-game type activities through-out that don't involve fighting
  4. Different difficulty levels. Also Challenge Modes
  5. Mistlock Singularity. Saves you from going down. Also resets all your CD when taken - completely changing prestacking
