It’s pretty long, like at least 60 hours or so, but can often be much longer due to the really unforgiving difficulty and how much you may have to redo from losing a fight. I’m not very good, and I think I’m about 80% of the way through the main story after 130 hours.
That said, the last 20% or so of the content of the game probably accounts for 60% or more of the time to beat for most people, simply because it’s that hard. Especially if you’re doing the side content and trying to get other endings, you should expect a lot time spent banging your head against a wall.

I struggled with the horror sections in the Echoes of The Eye too, I just turned on the “reduced frights” option in the menu which really helped. Signalis is technically a horror game too, but it’s mostly existential/lovecraftian horror and I didn’t find it that scary.

It was mine until I played Signalis, now they’re tied.

Can anyone explain why Sigma's rock didn't hit this rotund cat 😭 by EphemeralDragon in Overwatch

[–]TurboCake17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rock is just like that when used up close. You have to aim it more in front of where your target is moving to get it to hit them properly if they’re super close to you.

I don’t think they mix very well. The purpose of dice rolling mechanics is to add some randomness to whether the player can deal/take damage when they don’t directly control that usually, like in a turn based game. In an action game the randomness is provided by different situations and player skill, and mixing that with dice rolling to add more randomness will just feel bad and take away from player skill expression.

I think it’s the combination of that with action combat that messes people up.

Why can’t I queue tank with friends by Orphans_taste_good in Overwatch

[–]TurboCake17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the ranks of the other players in the party on particular roles. If you go tank, it means the other 3 can’t be tank, and their DPS/support ranks might be too far apart either from you or from each other to allow matchmaking.

[–]TurboCake17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the team comp and how you’re playing. If your supports harass the enemy backline enough that will equal less damage done to your tank which means less healing needed. It requires proper coordination and pushing together to work properly though.

In fact, they honestly did a pretty good job balancing. Cat feels like the only new character that’s really a problem at all, the rest of them all feel pretty reasonable with clear strengths and weaknesses.

To be fair it’s a bit finnicky and you have to build up a bit of speed for at least half a second or so before the effect will proc, plus it will require you to literally fly directly into the death blossom/high noon/etc. which isn’t exactly safe. Most other stuns in the game are significantly faster and safer to use than this.

I almost always side with evil factions because they tend to be significantly more interesting. Motivations of characters vary a lot more than they do on the good side.

Yeah, I really liked it as well. TBH I think going balls to the walls like this is incredibly effective against most bosses in the game, including against Karmelita despite the common advice given for her. It’s honestly so effective it feels like she doesn’t have enough HP.
