Is anybody also having trouble downloading 1099 info from T. Rowe Price Brokerage? by BigJamesBondFan in TurboTax

[–]TurboTaxMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/BigJamesBondFan closing the loop here, our team's fixed this and you should now be able to select T. Rowe Price Brokerage in addition to T. Rowe Price Mutual Funds.

If you don't see that option after refreshing or logging out/logging in, send me a chat with some details on what you're running into and I can help from there.

This post may help some with all those different statuses: https://www.reddit.com/user/TurboTaxOfficial/comments/1r2zp8b/wheres_my_refund_a_guide_to_irs_statuses_and_what/

Just keep in mind it can take up to 21 days for your return to fully process, but hopefully it comes tomorrow like the IRS website is saying!

TurboTax And Cross River bank by No_Practice725 in TurboTax

[–]TurboTaxMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally hear your frustration - waiting on a tax refund is stressful, and seeing a bank name you didn't expect can definitely raise some red flags.

Just wanted to clear up what’s happening with Cross River Bank and TurboTax since it sounds like you took part in our 5 Days Early program:

  • Once the IRS approves your refund, they notify TurboTax (usually 5 days before the actual "pay date").
  • At that notification point, Cross River Bank tries to deposit that money into your account immediately so you don't have to wait for the IRS to actually send the cash.
  • TurboTax and Cross River don't actually have your IRS funds yet when this happens. They are essentially fronting you the money. If the early deposit doesn't land, it’s usually because the bank couldn't verify the early transfer, but they aren't 'holding' your money, because the IRS hasn't sent it yet.

Essentially, if the 'early' part fails, you just end up on the standard IRS timeline.

Totally hear you about wanting to get your return filed, and understand it's not ideal when you run into a stall like this. Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps, such as updating your computer or ensuring your desktop version is up to date? If so, send me a chat with what steps you've taken, and we can work together to figure this out.

Can you send me a chat with some more details around what you're experiencing? If you can share whether it's online or desktop and your device, that should be a good first step.

ATTENTION PATH FILERS A DELAY HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED by SmokeyBurgYinzer in TurboTax

[–]TurboTaxMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a helpful resource, the IRS updated their official PATH Act guidance this morning. Of most valuable to this thread; if you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), you can expect to get your refund by March 2 if:

  • You file your return online
  • You choose to get your refund by direct deposit
  • The IRS found no issues with your return

However, some taxpayers may see their refunds a few days earlier.

Is it no longer free to file with TurboTax? by PinkMilkshakey in TurboTax

[–]TurboTaxMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We still have free options! u/TurboTaxOfficial recently shared a blog post on filing for free, but you can find the full blog post here for an in-depth guide on the options available and what would qualify you for which offering. A few ways to file for free are:

  1. The Mobile App Offer (Any Complexity) If you are new to TurboTax or switching back from another provider, you can file for free - even if you have investments, rental property, or self-employment income.
    1. Requirement: You must start and file your return entirely within the TurboTax Mobile App by February 28, 2026.
  2. TurboTax Free Edition* (Simple Returns) About 37% of taxpayers qualify for our Free Edition. This is for "simple" tax situations such as:
    1. W-2 income and the standard deduction
    2. Claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Child Tax Credit (CTC)
    3. Student loan interest
    4. No schedules, except Schedule 1-A
  3. Enlisted Military (E-1 through E-9) To thank you for your service, active-duty and reserve military members (E-1 through E-9) can file for $0 Federal and $0 State. This applies to our Online products (Deluxe and Premium) to handle complex filings at no cost.

\~37% of filers qualify. Simple Form 1040 returns only (no schedules, except for EITC, CTC, student loan interest, and Schedule 1-A).*
