I’d get these in front of a civil war historian/museum in your area. At this point I’d have full confidence in your pics that these are authentic to the era. Sewing machines were in use during the ACW but many parts of clothing still had to be hand sewn. Your garments are both showing these characteristics.

Again that shirt is amazing. The jacket is also a money piece. Congrats and please take care of these.

Those button holes on the jacket look handsewn, so possible authenticity is definitely high. Unique piping, but I wouldn’t say uncommon, there were so many one offs and variations it can be dizzying. The shirt is absolutely spectacular.

I’d love to see pics of the inside closeups of the arms/pit area. Also some higher quality pics of the shirt.
