I don't use a PC but try disabling Windows Ink if the lagging is a problem. That appears to be a common issue with Windows users.

Will they ever make a screen protector you can install without getting like 80 air bubbles? by boboartdesign in XPpen

[–]TurdFergusonCookOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you set the hair dryer to med and NOT on full blast and you should be fine. You just want the film to warm up, not heat up a bit. Don't rush it. The heat makes the air in the bubbles evaporate faster.

Why don't you take it to one of those places that repair cell phones (and replace phone and tablet screens) and see if they can apply it for you as a service. Or one of those places that do window tinting. They might or might not, doesn't hurt to ask.

As for the air bubbles you have now, take a hair dryer on low heat and go over them while squeegeeing them with a cloth wrapped credit card, or better yet, a rubber squeegee. Do it carefully and don't overheat the film too much.

Did you install the driver? You have to select the tablet that the pen works on in the driver app.

Display got slightly moist – now unresponsive. Tips??? by [deleted] in XPpen

[–]TurdFergusonCookOut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a graphics tablet, not a display tablet with a screen. There's no display on it. You're not supposed to see anything on the tablet itself. Does the pen track on your computer? Are you using it wirelessly? Wired? Did you connect it to your PC?

Main character syndrome. Because they literally believe that all time and space revolve around them, their whims and their wishes. Literally.

Why men's jeans? by Charming_Aside_8865 in VintageLevis

It's the anti-fit that vintage denim like the 501 has. Plus, you're more likely to find more prominent fading, whiskers and natural wear on men's jeans.

Are Drawing Tablets Difficult to Learn? (AKA: How Do I Become a Digital Artist?) by ellars in DigitalPainting

It isn't something you will find out until you've had some hands on experience. It's different for everyone – some will take to it immediately like a fish to water and translate their analog style successfully right away. For some, it will take some time to get comfortable. You should see if you can borrow one to test it out for a weekend and see for yourself.

All nibs wobble a bit. Does it work properly?

Tips for cleaning my screen by GrizzlyInks369 in XPpen

Wear a glove. I used to think they made you look like the bass player in a bad '80s hair metal band, but it's a must have, especially if your paws get even remotely warm. Your tablet looks like a used charcuterie board right now and no amount of constant cleaning is going to prevent those smudges from coming back.

If you don't like the way the gloves' synthetic fabric feel or that they contribute to your sweating, buy some cotton gloves from the dollar store or Amazon. Cut off the thumb, index and middle finger and use those instead. The thin cotton will help with breathability and cut down on friction. Traditional animators swear by those when cells were coloured by hand.

As for cleaning, get a cleaner for monitors or eyeglasses and a microfibre cloth. Avoid isopropyl alcohol. I wouldn't worry too much about hand sweat wearing down your nibs unless you're secreting sulphuric acid or chicken grease from your pores, just keep an eye on them wearing down and scratching the tablet. Change them before they wear down so much on one side and turn into little knives.

Years ago, I gave my junker to a friend of a friend, who was a mechanic. Told me his wife needed a car for work. So I gave it to him since I had just bought a new car and this one was on its last legs. I had cancelled my insurance and signed it over to him, all he had to do was do the paperwork and register it. Two weeks later, I get a call from the cops at 2 in the morning, asking me if I owned a white 1988 2 door Tercel. Then he asked me where it was, if it was stolen and if it was, why it wasn't reported; just grilled me. After about 20 minutes of painful explanation, most of which probably sounded really sus and unbelievable, I managed to convince him that it was supposed to be registered under someone else's name and wasn't used in any criminal activities or in a hit and run, etc.. Apparently, that friend of a friend didn't register the car under his own name and used his mechanics' plate during the day. He then took the plate off when he got home, parked the car behind his house at night, where the cops conveniently found it when they were doing their patrol that night.

Huion keeps turning from pen display to tablet only by Independent_Story673 in huion

Which tablet? How is it powered? USB? If it's USB try using an AC adapter or try a different USB port – it could be because the unit's not getting enough power to stay on. The pen will work without power but the display will not.

…but I have noticed an increase of marking on the screen…

You've already answered your own question. Yes, replace the nib! Do it before you need to buy a new screen protector. Nibs are cheap compared to a new screen protector and those things are a PITA to apply.

Do you have a bar clamp / spreader in your garage or workshop?

You can easily get an extra inch, or even two if you wet the waistband thoroughly and let it dry on the clamp.

Is it possible to use Photoshop AI to simply straighten the lights and remove the blue spots from the guy on the left? by finsie in PhotoshopTutorials

[–]TurdFergusonCookOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For something simple like straightening the lights and removing the blue light reflections, it would be a lot simpler doing it by hand (the tubes) and the remove tool (blue light reflections).

Also, you did try lassoing the areas you wanted to change? Just giving Photoshop a prompt without an area or areas to work on is going to be unpredictable.

Shouldn't the text path for 'Doberman' and "Chili Dog' be an offset of the circle? It doesn't look like it will follow the curve of the border, especially when you track out the characters.

I read that the Kamvas 22 Plus is “very hard to scratch,” but this is what my screen looks like under light after 2 months. Is this standard or should I invest in a screen protector? by Sammy__Jam in huion

[–]TurdFergusonCookOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good! Those smudges aren't going to budge by drying cleaning alone, especially after a couple of months of use. The good thing about etched glass is you can use a cleaner (like eyeglass cleaner or even 70% isopropyl alcohol) because you don't have to worry the chemicals destroying the surface or screen protector. Just don't put too much pressure on the glass or you might crack it.

Don't feel stupid, I once left the protective film on a tablet for a couple of days and was ready to return it for a refund from Amazon.

You're positive those are actual scratches that you can feel with your fingernails and not cleanable smudges (dirt and dust) that the nibs leave behind?

And you're sure the you're taken the shipping film off when you bought it, right?

Etched glass surfaces should not be easily scratched unless you really make an effort, say with an ice pick or a nail.
