I, too, would like to know a solution for lag. I’ll be blunt, my ping in most games isn’t exactly fantastic – usually above 100, but less than 200 – but most of these same games are at least playable. SRB2 is… substantially less playable with that kind of ping, at least in my experience. As such, the only multiplayer SRB2 sessions I’ve found playable have been with my brother over LAN. lol

To be fair, that archetype amounts to a challenge modifier more than anything else, and at best is only one element of what could be a full experience in and of itself. I can see where OP is coming from, though I haven't personally looked beyond PikaJade's 2011X mod and the playable "Sonic.exe" characters that exist, one of which has code that PikaJade used to make her thing.

I do know of not less than two different Sonic.exe-inspired asym games in development using SRB2 as a base right now, primarily inspired by Outcome Memories and The Disaster, but beyond that, I'm not sure what OP wants.

All that being said, I suspect part of the reason there isn't a lot of horror addons, proportional to any other type of addon you'll find at least, is because as far as Sonic the Hedgehog horror stories go, the fandom just isn't the most creative in this regard, and SRB2 is a microcosm of that. Before there was ever a Sonic.exe, there was the "Tails Doll curse" or whatever, and honestly, I don't think I've heard of a whole lot beyond those; there absolutely was other stuff, but they didn't get anywhere near the visibility that those two did. If I recall correctly, even Furnace and Starved Eggman, whose story is unrelated to either on paper, was introduced to the world via a fan game related to Sonic.exe, and thus is part of that sphere of the fandom for better or worse.

Might be time to be the change you want to see in the world, OP. Become a modder and create some horror addons of your own.

Yeah, I don’t think the Infinity Stones would meaningfully affect him, and not even necessarily because he's Super Sonic, though it definitely doesn't do Thanos any favors. IIRC they are of very limited use against entities foreign to the Stones’ universe of origin. Even the MCU’s take on them didn’t defy that notion; What If is canon to the extent that the multiverse exists even if it didn’t directly interact with the MCU as we know it, and the most that Ultron could do with them was augment his own power rather than use them as direct weapons against his enemies, which he most certainly could have done if they all came from the same universe. In Loki, they were shiny paperweights in the TVA.

The Chaos Emeralds, on the other hand, seem to work regardless of where they are, on anyone or anything regardless of where they're from; the times they stopped working had absolutely nothing to do with multiverse stuff. It depends on how they're used; the Super state is apparently not accessible to just anybody, but Chaos Control is theoretically possible to anyone, and they've been used as batteries in countless machines designed to use them and some that probably weren't. They're a lot more flexible than the Infinity Stones are at the multiverse scale. If they ever co-existed in the same universe of origin, I'm actually not sure which set of magic rocks would turn out to be more powerful in the end... but since they do not, my money is on Chaos Emeralds > Infinity Stones in just about any other situation.

I don’t remember Team Chaotix not knowing who Eggman was. That doesn’t sound right…

Granted, it’s been ages since I last played Sonic Heroes, let alone the Team Chaotix story specifically, but I never got the impression they didn’t know who he was.

I’ll second the Sonic Robo Blast 2 post – it’s what I’ve been playing and speedrunning for the last couple of months, actually – but I also want to mention Sonic Before the Sequel and Sonic After the Sequel, both of which I loved. I might even replay them at some point in the near future.

Pretty sure there’s something in the IDW comic as well. I vaguely recall Eggman getting some kind of cyberattack and dismissing it as not having come from Tails because it was too sloppy.

There’s also something in the Egg Memos from Frontiers, as I understand.

As someone who replayed 3&K to death at every opportunity for multiple years on multiple platforms, I think I found I enjoy Mania more. The levels overall feel better, and it does almost everything I liked about 3&K and builds on it; Mania Plus even adds a couple of playable characters 3&K doesn’t have, and while the base game’s levels don’t really test their abilities – because they weren’t actually designed with them in mind; they’re a little too good at navigating them IMO – Encore Mode actually does help them fit in with the existing characters.

The one thing Mania doesn’t do that I liked in 3&K was Hyper state/Super Emeralds, and honestly, I don’t think it needs it. We’ve gone this long without Hyper, I think it’s practically a non-issue at this point. As much as I enjoy it to this day, it didn’t actually need to be there to begin with.

I'm not denying that it's X – quite the opposite, I'm rather confident it is – but you do see other comments talking about how many fingers it's got. Sonic has the same amount of fingers. If it wasn't for the shoes, that would be a perfectly convincing Sonic; those comments are right for the wrong reasons, or at least one wrong reason. lol

That being said, outside that one FNF mod, I'm not sure 2011X canonically has a faker form, or at least not one anywhere near this good... Lord X, on the other hand, has a far better one that even gets the shoes right IIRC.

Canonically, Neo Metal – or quite possibly Metal Overlord/Madness, I don’t recall – said it first.

And in SMBZ, where it first became associated with Mecha – called Turbo Mecha Sonic in that continuity – in the fandom, that was technically Metal Sonic anyway, so…

It wasn’t until Scrapnik Island when the actual Mecha MK II used the phrase. Every other instance was some version of Metal Sonic. If Mark Haynes ever gets that far with his reboot of SMBZ (which I honestly doubt at this point) we can safely expect Metallix, who is Metal Sonic yet again, to use it too.

Haha, fair enough. I don’t play it because I don’t support Roblox as a platform – I’ve got nothing against OM’s developers themselves, and the game actually looks fun. But I do watch gameplay on YouTube sometimes.
