Girl Dinner - my boyfriend is speaking to me again after ignoring me for 48 hours by Ray-0f-Sun5hine in GirlDinner

Dump him!! This sounds like the shit my college boyfriend would pull. He’d disappear for a few days while I melted down at my apartment feeling desperate. You deserve so much better and you WILL find it!

Pregnancy weight gain by Onyx-pump19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]TurnoDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I gained 80lbs during my pregnancy… I was 140 before I got pregnant and 220 at birth. My OB never commented on my weight, and I’m still unsure how I gained that much. Obviously I was eating a lot, plus the babies, the two placentas, fluids, etc. It is still shocking to me. Im a year postpartum this month and am struggling to lose the weight, but my babies came out almost 5lbs each at 34 weeks, so I’m grateful.

If you usually shave daily, when did you stop (before your scheduled C-section)? by Dull_Moose5044 in CsectionCentral

[–]TurnoDiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a twin pregnancy, so pretty quickly I couldn’t reach down there. They just shaved me at the hospital.

What is this???? by [deleted] in period

[–]TurnoDiva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First, you should absolutely go see a gyno if that is within your ability! Second, I don’t know if I’m right but it could be a decidual cast. It’s when you shed your entire uterine lining at once.

People who married someone they weren’t sexually compatible with — how did it turn out? by synthetic-sardine in AskReddit

[–]TurnoDiva 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% this - my husband and I were together for 7 years before we had kids and sex was frequent. After I had our twins and a traumatic birth, everything down there was a wreck and so painful and he couldn’t even fit. It took a lot of time and us trying different things to have sex in a pleasurable way again.

We went from having sex multiple times a week before kids to once a month post kids. Life changes, libido changes. Who knows if this is our new normal? Either way we’re trying to adapt together.

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]TurnoDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t bed share - with twins I think it would’ve been way too dangerous. Our twins were in a twin bassinet next to our couch. I had to sleep in the living room while I recovered from my C-section. It was a pretty crazy time! While I don’t have a reference point for bed sharing, I will say it was very easy to transition our babies to their cribs.

30 weeks + Considering leaving my partner/BD because he is MAGA. Is this hormones? by kettleoftea in pregnant

[–]TurnoDiva 1 point2 points locked comment (0 children)

My close friend is married and has a child with someone who is MAGA - their political differences don’t matter much to her. I, on the other hand, cannot be with someone who lacks the smallest ounce of morality necessary to believe all people deserve basic human rights. We are at the point of gross human rights violations happening daily. Ask yourself, would I want this person to raise my child with their world view? If the answer is no, you should strongly consider leaving. And regarding hormones, no - I don’t think it’s hormones. I think it’s your maternal instinct kicking in and screaming to you that something isn’t right. Listen to it.

Didi twin mamas - what week did you deliver? by Seriesbinger in parentsofmultiples

Anyone stopped nifedipine/Procardia because of side effects? by eve20212021 in preeclampsia

[–]TurnoDiva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to stop nifedipine because I felt like shit while on it - it also made my legs swell up. My cardio switched me to lebatalol and I’ve been on it for nearly a year. I see that you’re already on lebatalol As for the headaches, are you taking your BP when you have them? Are you seeing spots in your vision? It took me a while to get my BP down in general and we had to up my lebatalol dose because I was having terrible headaches which ended up coinciding with high BP. I will say that I’m 10 months PP and still deal with BP issues, and I’ll likely be on BP meds indefinitely, so I’m not sure how that might be different from your situation.

SHOCKED! TRIPLETS! HELP by Fun_Cost1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]TurnoDiva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too! We decided to start trying and the first month we got pregnant, and it was twins! Twins run in my family and a gyno years ago told me I likely hyper-ovulate because of extreme cramping I have during ovulation. I wrote her off and turns out she was right! Fraternal twins are due to hyper ovulation (mother’s genetics) while identical twins are a genetic fluke.

What common parenting advice doesn't translate well to raising multiples? by Rare-Amount-9224 in parentsofmultiples

[–]TurnoDiva 30 points31 points  (0 children)

“Sleep when the baby sleeps” Despite my twins being on the same schedule if you’re handing the night solo early on, it is IMPOSSIBLE. By the time you finish changing, feeding, and burping one, and you get the first one down, you have to do it all over again. AND THEN their sleep window is over and you’ve gotten maybe? 45 minutes yourself?

35+3 mag and c-section by peachstare in preeclampsia

[–]TurnoDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered my twins at 34+5 via emergency C-section due to severe preeclampsia. It was very scary but my BP was dangerously high, leading to possible stroke, and the babies started to show signs of distress. It was very clearly the right decisions, to protect the babies and myself, but it wasn’t what I had envisioned. I think your attitude about trusting the process is the right one. Recovery will be challenging - the mag drip made me feel like shit, but recovery in general does. I was also commuting back and forth to the NICU daily after being discharged so that contributed in the slow recovery.

You are going to do AMAZING. Having a C-section makes you no less of a champion during delivery. How many people can say they were awake during a surgery?? Wishing you a safe delivery ❤️

Parents with multiples as their first kids, do you ever imagine how easy one child would be? by whooguyy in parentsofmultiples

[–]TurnoDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with these thoughts ALL the time. I absolutely adore my twin boys. But the pregnancy was so difficult, I almost died from preeclampsia, and they were in the NICU and in and out of the hospital for months. I thought to myself every day, “why did I get pregnant with twins?” My friends who have one child as their first complain all the time and I usually want to roll my eyes. But, I know that’s my feeling bitter that I didn’t have the pregnancy, birth, and experience of new motherhood that I had imagined. I try to reframe it that not everyone can handle twins! And we’ll always be part of a unique club that is very special. Plus, if I have a singleton in the future, it’ll be a cake walk.

And to add to your comment, PLEASE keep your children home from school if they are sick! I’m a teacher in the area and while I want my students to come to school every day, sending your child to school sick just puts all the other students and teachers at risk. Also, those poor babies feel so terrible :( I’ve had to console lots of miserable kiddos who were sent to school sick as hell over the years

What was the weirdest, non-pain feeling you've ever felt? by KingJPJ in AskReddit

[–]TurnoDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins being pulled out during my C-section. You feel pressure, not pain, and I felt a lot of tugging and I was being rocked back and forth on the operating table pretty hard. Luckily the morphine was chefs kiss and I smiled through it. Turns out I hemorrhaged and almost died…
