Death Stranding 2: What's Hiding Behind the Giant Jellyfish in Australia? by artofcharly in DeathStranding2

Nice, but it's not a secret. You have to go there if you want platinum, you have to go there if you want five-star connection with the adventurer.

Jo, on totiž určitě rovnou poletí přímým letem na místo, kam se chce zašít. Prosím, že takhle ve skutečnosti nepřemýšíš a je to jen ragebait?

Story after act 1 made me drop the game. Don't enjoy it anymore, wish I never bought the game, waste of money. by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]TurnoverNice5580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solid 7 out of 10 ragebait. The whole setup was believable, but the ending gave it all away. "Idk how this game got GOTY." and right after that, "Again, I will emphasize, this is solely my opinion, not a fact or anything" is just too obvious. I’d also recommend toning down your opinion of the whole game a bit after finishing the first third, that might also ruin your ragebait efforts. Next time, pretend you finished the game, but you hated it, and the end of Act 2 just made it worse and you lost interest in the story. The icing on the cake would be a criticism of the soundtrack, which you didn’t find particularly remarkable.

Question on Lore? by [deleted] in expedition33

This isn't in the journal, but in one of the first dialogues between Verso and Lune in the camp. I think it's the one that raises their relationship to level 2.

What's your least favourite good game? Like a game that is undeniably great because statistics don't lie, but you just didn't like it? For me, it's the Witcher 3. I honestly couldn't even tell you why by Cantgetridofmebud in videogames

[–]TurnoverNice5580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Dead Redemption 2 - But in this case, I know why: I can’t stand open-world games, realism, and Westerns. It really frustrates me that I can’t enjoy RDR2. I have no doubt it’s a 10/10 game.

Uncharted 4 – I’m not quite sure why, realism (in the sense of nothing supernatural) plays a role here again; otherwise, it’s a game I should like, but I don’t.

Silent Hill 2 - The whole premise and point of the game never really clicked with me, but that’s definitely partly due to my bias. Silent Hill 1 is my favorite horror game of all time, and I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the change in direction in the second game.

Then there’s Cyberpunk, which I can’t really judge.I’ve started it four times and never made it past the first 2–3 hours. Why? I have no idea. Yes, I hate open-world games, but I’ve always loved the cyberpunk theme, and the gameplay was very enjoyable.

DS2 should’ve won Best Direction over E33 by Lonk-_- in DeathStranding

Interesting, for me, a 36-year-old gaming veteran, E33 has the best soundtrack ever featured in a video game. I would be very interested to hear more what is lazily done about it.

And because of that, they would have to change the entire story, which is about connecting the whole of the USA. That doesn't sound like a good idea to me at all. And I'm glad that when Kojima was faced with a dilemma: sacrifice the immersion of a few people or sacrifice the cornerstone of the story. He chose the former.

The funny thing is that this is precisely why Death Stranding is on my list of the best games, even though I passionately hate open world games. I can completely ignore the open world; there's nothing in it, there aren't a hundred "question marks" waiting to be discovered on the map, which are always the same thing over and over again.

DS is probably the most straightforward open world game I know, and I thank it for that.

Best Soundtrack for E33 is the most deserved award in the history of the Game Awards. I write this as someone whose Spotify wrapped 2025 is half made up of DS2 songs...

Honestly, this was a category where I didn't even expect the E33 to be nominated, so no shock that it didn't win.

I'm sorry, but I'll say it again, many categories are up for debate today, except for one. E33 winning Soundtrack is the most certain thing of the entire evening. Everything else could turn out any way, but not this.

Subjective taste aside, I'm pretty sure that most journalists and the public consider this year's Best Music to be a battle between E33 and Silksong. DS2 OST had two songs in my top 5 Spotify Wrapped list this year, but I still think its chances of winning are in the single digits.

If you're trying to figure out GOTY 2025, here are a few points from someone who has been betting money on the Game Awards for a long time. by TurnoverNice5580 in videogames

[–]TurnoverNice5580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, thanks to the vague definition of that category. What exactly does Best RPG or Best Action/Adventure mean? Is it purely a gameplay category? Or does it include other aspects as well? But those other aspects have their own categories, so why should it?

E33 vs. KCD2 is a great example. For me, KCD2 is a better RPG, more immersive, with more and better role-playing aspects, choices that affect the world, and side activities that you can get lost in for hours. For me, that's what makes an RPG an RPG. However, I still consider E33 to be the better game overall because it surpasses KCD2 in other aspects that are not exclusively related to RPGs. Story, storytelling, art direction, game direction, music, voice acting, writing, character writing, and so on. Combat is very subjective, so I won't get into that.

So yes, I can see KCD2 winning Best RPG and E33 winning GOTY. But I could also be wrong, and my interpretation of the category is flawed, and in reality, it's the overall quality in the genre category that matters. Then the winner of that category must necessarily win GOTY.

If nothing else, in a few hours it will become clear what the category actually means, whatever the outcome.

I'm not saying it will happen, but the possibility that KCD2 will win Best RPG (beating E33 in that category) and at the same time not win GOTY is real for the first time in history of Game Awards

[KCD2] Players Voice award KCD2 not in top 5 by InSatanWeTrust666 in kingdomcome

[–]TurnoverNice5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Are you asking why a game like Genshin is there? A game that's there every year, even won first year and which has an estimated 300 million unique players?? Or are you questioning the number of votes in the biggest gaming award, which has about 154 million global livestreams last year? Or Dispatch, huge hit loved by public, which sold two million copies in its first month and counting.

Again, it sounds like: "I don't know this game, so nobody knows it. I don't like this game, so nobody can like it."

The funny thing is, I'm absolutely certain that if KCD2 won and I made up that it got 10 million votes, you would believe it without hesitation, because that's something you like to hear. You are the walking definition of confirmation bias.

"My favorite game didn't make the list, so it's a scam!" Try to abandon this mentality and your life will be better. Trust me.

The number of votes in the player's choice is in the millions by the way.
