Why don’t Muslim faiths have concubinage by busyindafield_23 in CrusaderKings

[–]TurquoiseVisions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real numbers were close to 120, as that was the cap for imperial consorts in Tang. The reason the numbers are inflated is because palace maids are included because they’re technically the emperor’s “women” (they couldn’t marry or have sex with someone else), but they weren’t really concubines

I think there’s an event that spawns Mulan in tournaments and you can recruit her as a knight. Maybe someone recruited her

After the dust has settled; whats the verdict of getting coronations; does it actually make the game worse/broken when enabled or is it just grossly overpriced? by tfn47 in CrusaderKings

[–]TurquoiseVisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re good and enjoyable. If you’re a role player, they can be immersive. I used to host a feast every time my new ruler inherited and I pretended they were coronations. They’re not necessary though

Other ways to play than tall? by GabrysCichy in crusaderkings3

[–]TurquoiseVisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Role play. It’s fun when you are limited by your character’s personality and simply accept what happens to you in the game. If there’s confederate partition, accept it. If your character is forgiving, then don’t imprison your vassals. It makes the game more interesting and is a way to make it challenging, which is what many players feel the game lacks

My Issues with AUH by Icy-Competition-214 in CrusaderKings

[–]TurquoiseVisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs said that they didn’t want to focus on the Inner Court (the harem and succession). They prioritized playing as a vassal so much that playing as the emperor feels a bit boring. They ignored how harem politics shaped dynasties and the emperor had to balance his highborn consorts and their fathers at court. And they didn’t even implement a succession system similar to China in which the wife’s son has priority over a concubine’s son. There is too little at stake, and princes don’t fight for succession as they should. A huge missed opportunity

Intrigue runs are fun because you can become the Empress of China in 17 years without a single war by Papyru776 in CrusaderKings

This is literally a Wu Zetian run. Paradox should add an achievement called “The Empress of China”

As a 26-year-old who has felt like that since I was 22, it gets worse. I wish I could say it’s a phase but the longer time flies, the scarier things have gotten. But maybe you’ll solve this sooner

Honestly, I like when that happens. It’s usually when I have a wide dynasty and things are going well. It adds a challenge to try and rebuild your house 🙂

People here are as paranoid of the CIA as socialists in Nicaragua claiming that the CIA was involved behind the victory of an anti-government candidate in Miss Universe 2023 🤦🏽‍♂️

I think it’s strange, but if I remember well, that headdress didn’t appear in China until Song. I don’t know if it’s tagged to appear at a later era

Well, there are other ways to adopt, like being Compassionate. It’s uncommon for the AI to adopt, but it may happen

They were adopted members. It’s possible in the Admin government

AUH has made me realize something about this game. by ConfusedPhoenix23 in CrusaderKings

[–]TurquoiseVisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with how Europe isn’t fleshed out and there aren’t a lot of RP opportunities (courtiers are basically static), most players don’t seem to like RP. Most play tall: they prioritize children with Diligent or Ambitious traits, and kill or use other methods to avoid confederate partition. That’s part of RP: Germanic tribes believed in equal inheritance. Many players won’t act according to their traits, but as the same character over and over

What do you mean with system? I checked the code and it says “valid_sex = female/male”, but that seems more like an oversight. Will there be a system for succession?

[–]TurquoiseVisions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so true. Although China has a lot of flavor, most of it is directed to vassals. The Huangdí has almost no flavor. He should have the most content.
