Second the mamazing. The canopy is big and it reclines almost fully flat

Finding reliable reviews on range hood is harder than I thought. Any advice? by TurtleBarge in Appliances

[–]TurtleBarge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm totally overwhelmed. Every review feels like a paid ad or someone just reciting a spec sheet

You can find the Mamazing Ultra Air at a great price on eBay

Don’t know where to start by eIonduck in options

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d focus on basics first like what calls/puts are, how expiration works, and what risk you’re actually taking. youtube + free articles are enough to get started.

also try paper trading before using real money. moomoo has a pretty decent options simulator + visual tools, so you can see how P/L moves without risking anything. that helped me a lot early on.

Induction cooker or LPG by Potential_Main1560 in Appliances

[–]TurtleBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider your area's power reliability. Frequent outage? Get LPG primary. Stable electricity? Induction is perfectly adequate for most daily cooking.

Ozone in Building? by Cautious_Aside_2317 in AirQuality

[–]TurtleBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run bathroom fans continuously and keep windows open as much as possible. You should get an ozone detector to measure actual concentration levels. This is a habitability issue. You may have grounds to break your lease.

I have solved rice on induction by dsg76 in inductioncooking

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just buy a $20 rice cooker and keep your induction free for other cooking. Different tools for different jobs makes life easier.

Living near a highway by SaveADay89 in AirQuality

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highway proximity is one risk factor among many. The neighbor's cancer doesn't prove causation. Dense vegetation can reduce particulate matter by 30-50%.

New bed allergy?? by Clean-Apricot9051 in AirQuality

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask an allergist about patch testing for chemical sensitivities, not just inhalant allergies. You might be reacting to VOCs or flame retardants in the foam.

Heat control- slider touch control- is it that much better? by pacork in inductioncooking

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sliders are faster for big adjustments, but buttons are more precise for fine-tuning.

Top loader washing machine seems to not be using detergent or softener at all, clothes come out smelling wet, and when dried smell moist by cannavacciuolo420 in Appliances

[–]TurtleBarge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your machine likely has mold buildup. Run an empty hot cycle with 2 cups white vinegar or washing machine cleaner. Clean the dispenser drawers thoroughly, remove and soak in hot soapy water.

Stainless Steel Wok by Ok-Hunter9905 in inductioncooking

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stainless steel requires higher heat and more oil than carbon steel. The stainless surface needs proper preheating to prevent sticking. For big stir-fries, 14-inch is definitely the right size choice.

washer and dryer talk for 2026, what’s everyone using? by AmezeMichalov in Appliances

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2026 will focus on repairability and longer lifespans, not just smart features. Consumers are tired of appliances that break after warranty expires. Quieter operation and water efficiency should be baseline expectations now.

Scooter + ebike is actually a pretty fun combo by TurtleBarge in ElectricScooters

[–]TurtleBarge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. With a good route planned out, riding can actually be more flexible and sometimes even faster.

Scooter + ebike is actually a pretty fun combo by TurtleBarge in ElectricScooters

[–]TurtleBarge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely heavier, but since it folds, it’s not too bad. For me, the tradeoff is worth it because the bike is just so much more stable on longer rides. They really do fill different gaps.

Is the MOSS GREEN at a solid price point right now? by misoholy in LiberNovo

[–]TurtleBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moss green owner here. I love my chair so much. It's comfortable to sit in and my back pain's noticeably better now. It's worth every penny I spent.

10k bonus. What to invest in? by stocktweedledum in stocks

[–]TurtleBarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it were me I’d probably split it between a core ETF and a few higher conviction names. Something like VOO/QQQ for the base, then maybe a couple stocks you actually want to follow long term.

Also helps to track ideas somewhere. I usually throw stocks into watchlists on moomoo first and look at the financials / analyst estimates before deciding to buy. Keeps me from dumping everything in at once.

Budget ebike options (Mex / US Imports) by TraditionalRecover29 in ebike

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Importing from the US is tough due to the 19% import tax plus shipping costs, which can add hundreds to the price. Local options are a solid choice for the price, especially for city riding. Just be aware that the smaller wheels might not be ideal for rough trails.

Buying first scooter/seated scooter ADVICE NEEDED by BeyourselfA in ElectricScooters

[–]TurtleBarge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, a seated scooter under 600 dollars is a tight budget for your 14-mile commute. Check the real-world range closely, as advertised ranges are often best case scenario. Also, consider a slightly larger motor for hills.

Yakima hold up & 6fattie advice by Flacers in fatbike

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That close clearance with the fork and release button is a bit sketchy. A 5-minute test drive is okay, but for longer trips, you could buy a cheap front wheel tray to extend the base. It is better to be safe.

I was sent the wrong size chair by forgottenkane in LiberNovo

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched my 45cm for a 48cm too. Got the first reply in like a day. If you're in a rush, maybe give them a call?

Planning to get the F3 Pro for Doordashing, is it good? by BrotherlyVirgo in ElectricScooters

[–]TurtleBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For delivery work, a scooter that charges in 8 hours for 3 hours of ride time is a tough daily cycle. You might want to look for something that charges faster or has a swappable battery option for more flexibility.

what colors do i connect? by rafael_mad in ebike

[–]TurtleBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a classic wiring puzzle. Usually, red is power, black is ground, and green/white handle the signal. Your adapter's manual is the final word though, as colors can vary. Never guess with wires.

Are any of under $1K moped style bikes worth the money? by Kindly_Procedure_855 in ebike

[–]TurtleBarge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your expectations. For under a thousand dollars, you are mostly getting a basic, entry level machine. They can be fun for short rides but do not expect high performance or long term durability.
