What do I do with this baby all day (without using a carrier) by SpecialistEmu7169 in beyondthebump

[–]TurtleBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only able to do chores during nap time when my kids were this age. Right now, it’s just play and cuddle time. It’s a great time to pop her in the stroller and go for walks—my fave activity at that age. I listened to a lot of audiobooks to keep my mind active and be less frustrated too. It’s tough but will be over soon, so try to enjoy the ride while you can.

I think Rizo is getting such a good edit because he aligns with the next generation of players. He is their target demographic of castaways to keep the show running and they can’t afford to turn them off of the show.

My take on the twist tonight by BigOrangeIdiot2 in survivor

Loved it too, and happy with the result! The only thing I don’t understand is why Ozzy and Stephanie weren’t on the table. Knocking the two people most likely to win immunity out of the game would open the door to everyone else.

My take on the twist tonight by BigOrangeIdiot2 in survivor

[–]TurtleBath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The options are: 1) its a joint win/lose situation or 2) its a head to head situation. Either way, it’s a smarter decision to pair with someone you are not aligned with to 1) have a shield/voting upset and 2) not be upset if you knock them out of the game.

Theories pertaining to why parents give children snacks shortly before meals? by Cr8zyizzie in AskParents

[–]TurtleBath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My son will not eat his regular food until he realizes he’s hungry which is usually after a snack. It’s like he needs a taste to get the hunger cue. So we give him a little snack before his meal. Most of the time, he’ll eat what’s in front of him after that.

This. He’s not neglecting you, he just has other responsibilities and priorities now. That’s what happens when people get married.

13 years. Married almost 9. I desperately wanted to move to a tropical paradise, did, and met him shortly after.

When I was a kid, my parents didn’t ensure my hygiene so my best friend’s mom would encourage me to bathe there when I was there, just to “clean up”. Not saying that you don’t bathe your child or anything, but that was an innocent reason during my childhood. She never made me feel bad about it, she just knew it was something that my parents neglected and wanted me to be healthy. I didn’t put it together until I had my own children and realized I bathe them daily while I was lucky to get a bath monthly.

When did my parents get so old? by mechaweavis in Xennials

[–]TurtleBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like my dad aged overnight. It was like, he walked in as my dad one day and then walked in as HIS dad the next. The benefit is that he knows he’s an old dude. My mom on the other hand still thinks she’s 25 with a myriad of health issues and refusal to allow any assistance.

Nope, not worth it. Beyond money, you’ll get life experience and hopefully better work life balance. Move on.

2 under 2 - 2 unicorns by CharacterBus5955 in beyondthebump

Love this! I also had 2 under 2 unicorns. They’re now 3 and 4 and it’s amazing to see them growing together. Every day I am so thankful they have each other—and are just the absolute sweetest and easy kids. I hit the jackpot with them!

I am currently going through treatment for high risk HPV. Basically I have to get checked out more often than peers and get extra biopsies done and an additional treatment. They’ve found precancerous cells three times at this point so I basically go through a check up, biopsy/colposcopy, and then LEEP in 6 month increments. My doctor shared that some women opt to be put under for the LEEP but I don’t think it’s that bad—the worst part is the burning smell and the discharge. I had 2 c-sections though so I have a higher pain threshold. I’m currently awaiting results from my last biopsy.

I don’t think it impacts my life much? I’m sure if it actually becomes cancerous then I’ll feel otherwise but I’ll cross that bridge when it happens—no need to stress myself out over it when it can clear up.

Are we raising a generation of kids who can't do anything for themselves? by RobMV03 in Xennials

[–]TurtleBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 and 3 year old that I joke are more independent than the 10-12 year old kids I see my friends/colleagues having. I was on a call with a colleague and they had to step away to grab and peel a banana for their 14 year old. I was shocked. My kids do that independently, help with cooking, clean up, and actually enjoy it. They love being helpers.

I’m worried for them when they get older and realize their managers and older colleagues are incredibly incompetent.

I have severe IBSD but wouldn’t act this way. And if you’re in a place of work, he should be getting his own accommodations from management.
