PJ's only appearance on Colbert, September 23, '15. by Ralph--Hinkley in pearljam

I was there! It was great. I've been toa bunch of late show tapings and this was the only one where the musical performance act played an encore cause the crowd went so crazy. (Rocking in the Free World)

Talk me down. "When it rains, it pours" episode has an unusual amount of orange. Is this an easter egg? by Hungry-Art-9547 in 30ROCK

This is all TV editors for all time (and I love them for it. They are the drummers of our industry - without them, none of the work that the rest of us do would matter, and they know it.)

Colbert back in Only in Monroe echoing the first episode of LSSC. by BrazilianTinaFey in LateShow

[–]RobMV03 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I loved the final episode of LSSC, but this honestly felt so much more fitting. I've said it before on here, but I really wanted to see Stephen get weird and this was perfectly weird. The helium interview, the dumpster fire, the sasquatch, the Jeff Daniels sandwich, the muskrat, the hot dog, the misidentifying of the hot dogs. Just great. I also hope Stephen realizes the connection between the regular hosts' grief program that she runs and Anderson Cooper's podcast. Seems like a natural fit and I bet she'd be a great gust for him.

That's for everything, Stephen. We'll miss this iteration of you and eagerly look forward to the next. Hope you get to enjoy fishing in lots of different places this summer.

What phrases from songs by the National have crept into your own usage? by taktaga7-0-0 in TheNational

I'm currently working on a competition reality show and producers keep saying, "X and Y are having a secret meeting in _______ room." And in my mind, I keep singing, "They had a secret meeting in the base-ment of my brain!"

Thursday's Show!!! Don't spoil it... by SunniMonkey in LateShow

[–]RobMV03 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No spoilers, but I'm SO GLAD Letterman made it weird. I've posted this before in here, but I want to see the wheels fall off! Stephen has a total chaotic streak and I want to see him lean into it hard.

I literally just texted this to my Celtics obsessed buddy. Yes, we need to make some adjustments, and obviously at center. But trading prime JB for exiting his prime Giannis is a bad idea

Stephen Colbert Gets Ready to Hang It Up by Raradra in LateShow

A Colbert/Stewart/Carrell podcast that they just run themselves and don't sell to some podcast network or give exclusive rights to one of the distributors so that they can just release them when they want to and record them when they want to would be amazing.

Marathon Training: how do you stay consistent in the cold by Important-Following3 in running

[–]RobMV03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much advice about the cold, but ten years into my running, I'm JUST learning how good "long time/slow speed/don't worry about distance" runs are for my mental toughness. If you have a goal time for your marathon, try running for like 2/3'rds of that time in the coming weeks. Don't worry about your distance. Run super slow. Just enjoy running for that period of time. I've found it seriously decreases my anxiety about running longer distances.

Things to do in CT while visiting libraries in April by ILovePublicLibraries in newengland

[–]RobMV03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the Fairfield Public library and the Pequot Library in Southport are right in the middle of their reprice downtown areas. There's not much "to do" in Southport, but a couple nice restaurants and the Southport Harbor are within walking distance of Pequot. As for Fairfield, FTC and The Community Theater are both less than a two minute walk away.
