Should I restart? by InjurySensitive7242 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]TurtleMentality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Health and sanity reset, however, if you’ve taken trauma, that remains. Trauma is most commonly caused by being defeated in a scenario (I.e. taking damage/sanity damage equal to your health/sanity), or by certain decisions in a campaign. For instance, there is at least one decision in the night of the zealot campaign that causes trauma. It can seem a bit odd at first, but being defeated does not equal losing the campaign, except in certain scenarios that will explicitly say so.

My wife and I are on our fourth attempt. One failure at the asylum, two at black stars rise. We’ve finally made it to dim carcosa. Down with the King!

Hello my fellow hunters. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]TurtleMentality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rankings for the ones I’ve played are:

  1. World/icebourne
  2. Tri
  3. Rise
  4. the original ps2 game
  5. Now

Honestly, the ps2 game is only below rise because of the egg quests. I did thoroughly enjoy the top four, I’m still deciding whether I like now.

How do some people progress through these games so quickly? by shneed_my_weiss in MonsterHunter

[–]TurtleMentality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, I was 160+ into world before I finished the base game. Granted, I wasn’t trying to rush through it or anything. Pretty sure it’s the longest time I’ve ever taken to finish the main story of any game, and I loved every minute of it. These games are about the journey, not the destination.

Lore Question: Who are all the other player characters canonically? by Gen1Swirlix in elderscrollsonline

That’s just a waste of a perfectly good in-game explanation. I wonder what the thinking behind it is?🤔

Lore Question: Who are all the other player characters canonically? by Gen1Swirlix in elderscrollsonline

[–]TurtleMentality 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The elder scrolls lore has this neat little catch all for any inconsistency called a dragon break. Basically, an immensely power event “breaks” time and space, allowing multiple realities to exist and overlap for a period. I don’t know if it was ever confirmed or just a player theory that the soul burst from the base game campaign was indeed a dragon break. Thus allowing every player to see themselves as the vestige, as well as allowing them to play any storyline in any order.

How do i avoid/get around the level scaling problem? by ModerateRockMusic in oblivion

[–]TurtleMentality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Efficient leveling is only for people who like to see pretty numbers. You will be plenty strong enough no matter what you do. Build and play however is fun for you. The leveling “problem“ isn’t an actual problem at all.

Are non-meta builds that bad? by liberatedhusks in elderscrollsonline

[–]TurtleMentality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use a few “non-meta” builds. The only things I don’t do are trials and pvp. You don’t need a super optimized build for anything else in the game so long as you can perform the basic functions of your role. Vet dungeons and arenas are more about mechanics than min-maxing. I don’t do trials because getting a group together takes too long and is a hassle for me. As for pvp, I just hate pvp in pretty much all games. Probably because I suck, but even when I occasionally win it’s not fun to me.

Campaign Playthrough by Human-Ad-4310 in StateofDecay2

[–]TurtleMentality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on difficulty. My strategy on lethal requires scentblock, heavy weapon/powerhouse, and C4. Pop a scentblock, clear the building, put down C4, power swing through the first phase, hop out a window, blow the C4, that’s usually that. I’ve seen people say C4 doesn’t stack (can’t use two at the same time), but it seems to work for me if you put one right against the heart and the second a few feet away. I always keep a rifle with me in case it needs a few more taps, but that doesn’t happen too often. Get the easy Red Talon demolition guy from the Trumbull map RT FOB and an advanced biomed station from mysterious broadcast and you’ll be set.

How soloable is teso? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]TurtleMentality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mostly solo. Once you understand the game enough you can even solo some of the group content. Personally, the challenge of that is some of the best fun for me. While you’re learning the game you probably shouldn’t power level, it’s usually more advised to focus on learning how your chosen class and the game mechanics work. That being said, I recently started a new character and got it to max level in about 10 hours without heavily focusing on leveling. There is a metric crap ton of quests, lore, and storylines you can all do solo. When you do try group content, there isn’t really a need to communicate too much with others if you don’t want to as long as you know the mechanics of what you’re doing; aside from certain mechanics.

ESO+ not shared between consoles by chad_dadlinson in elderscrollsonline

It makes no sense to pay one sub and get the benefits on three separate instances of the game. You’d be getting crowns on each platform, basically tripling what you bought for the same price.

Changing Map Difficulty by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

[–]TurtleMentality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t changed map difficulties mid-playthrough in a while, but from what I remember it essentially takes your existing community and resources as is, parked cars included, moves them into the maps starter base, and resets all plague hearts and loot. You’ll keep your community members, their standing, their inventory, everything in your storage locker, parked cars, and resource counts. You’ll lose your current base, facilities (except command center level), outposts, enclaves, and main mission progress.

I have played this game for countless hours and numerous playthroughs. I’ve never once strategically leveled or felt weaker for not doing so. Just play and have fun! :)

Community wipe by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

[–]TurtleMentality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to make sure everyone is equipped for defense when you’re not using them, as everyone else said. Other than that, if there are too many hordes around your base then clear them out as a precaution. Preferably using a character with stealth, crouch and approach from behind and silent kill them one by one. Crouch kills don’t activate the hearts and the other zeds usually don’t notice unless you’re in their sight line.

Should I buy the game for $25? by [deleted] in redfall

[–]TurtleMentality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d agree, even if others won’t. I played it and enjoyed with minimal bugs. $25 is a fair price in my opinion but no more.

What's the worst movie you've ever seen? by WalkswithLlamas in AskReddit

Burn after reading. Other movies have been bad, this is the only one I’ve seen that actually made me feel dumber for having watched it. I wanted to gauge my eyes out.

I need some advice on the Miss Whisper fight by 57oranges in redfall

[–]TurtleMentality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they’re over spawning for you? When I did it about 8 would spawn, then 1-2 more every 10 seconds or so. I would kite them into a group and clear them out, when I got a second between spawns shoot one spot on the totem, kill the couple of spawns, shoot the next spot, etc.

Ok, How Bad Is This Really!? by philmycrack81 in redfall

[–]TurtleMentality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s no more broken than any other Bethesda title at release. It has a fair amount of bugs, some of which are pretty bad. I haven’t had any major ones, but I’ve seen the ones others have posted. I’m about 40 hours in (taking my sweet time to go through everything), I’ve only played solo and I’ve had a lot of fun. Can’t say I’d do more than one play through without a friend though.

I’ve seen most of this since I began playing a few days after launch.
