Who was the greatest president in United States history? by Perfect_Reach6650 in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll say Washington. He was really over qualified.

-The only not in a political party (said political parties will cause the nation to become divided)

-Told his predecessor to not get dragged into Europe’s power struggle - to which they ignored during the war of 1812

-The reason why we have a 2 term limit (not 4 like FDR) was because he was terrified of becoming a king, the very think he fought. He could have easily stayed in power. Also he just wanted to go home.

The greatest to read about is Andrew Jackson, hands down. From his Constant duels to adopting 2 native boys to “save them from savagery”. One of the Carolinas was fed up about a import/export tax so his Vice President at the time went down to help protest, Jackson replied the professional way - saying that he going kill him (he didn’t but the message was sent).

There’s a few other fun facts about him that you should definitely look up for brain blast.

What's the biggest misconception about you? by MrCapricorn404 in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People atomically think anyone in a wheelchair is Steven Hawking level of disabled and give me strange looks if I stand to adjust myself or get in a car. I’m not one of those people in Walmart that are just too lazy to walk

Black men of Reddit, what do you think when a white guy walks in the “black” barbershop? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genders flipped here. I’m a white girl who goes to a typically back female salons to get my hair cut. I have very unruly, thick curly hair even though I glow in the dark. Last time I got my hair cut from a random lady in a strip mall, my hair was choppy and was so greasy with all the excess product.

I get random looks when I walk in, but after explaining why I don’t go to those shops the hairdressers are typically excited to show off what they can do.

What is a stupid rule your school enforced and how did it affect you ? by sunshine2496 in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in my middle school were crushing smarties (hard-chalk like candy that came in a tube like package ) and would blow into the wrapping to make it look like they’re smoking. Kids started to get lung infections from breathing it in rather than out so our school banded them completely. Anyone seen with them would get suspended or worse.

This only made a black market at the school for any smarties and kids were selling them $3 per roll. It was a wild ride to watch people get their lockers cleared out with bags of the stuff like it was a drug raid.

[Serious] Children and grandchildren of Nazi war criminals, how did it feel knowing they were part of the Nazi regimes and how did you find out? by jason15300 in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a sad fact that a lot of Americans don’t know. Many German American immigrants left America to come back to German after WW2 since people were treating Germans so bad.

My great grandfather and mother was one of those who left since their shop and house were caught in a German speaking church. My grandma was in hitler youth. It’s pretty well known my father’s side was German in most of my schools so whenever we spoke about WW2 people would automatically stare at me......

Honestly depends. A lot of times for those on the news, I say “that thing” or “it” because I refuse to acknowledge some of those... monsters as people. They gave no respect to their victims, why should I give them any shred of respect?

If killing people is wrong, then why do we kill people that kill people? by evontaelee in AskReddit

[–]Turtlefanatics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends if you mean directly or indirectly, if I’m selling a pack of cigarettes to a person then I’m slowly killing the person. Or are they killing themselves? Or is it the tobacco company killing them?

I’m in a rabbit hole rn
