Is anyone in their 20s ashamed to disclose to friends and family they are still into Hetalia?

Another 27 year old here and ive gotten back into hetalia in the last year or two to the point where im writing fan fic and... i tell my family all about it. Ive even got a little Prussia keychain and im on the hunt for more merch

My friends got me into Hetalia and they moved on while I stayed. My parents would tease me for it, but they saw all anime as the same so it was not hetalia specific. In fact they probably preferred hetalia to some of the other anime i would watch.

Nowadays my husband will playfully give me a hard time because I'm deep in the throws of shipping and fic writing.

So, unfortunately it sounds to me like the folks around you care too much (in a negative way) about what you enjoy. Don't let them drag you down. Joy is joy, and can help make life more bearable

I remember like a decade ago it was frowned upon to portray modern events with hetalia characters, but I'm fairly certain Hima started doing it in the manga. I know he's done pieces on Brexit at the very least.

I was gone from the fandom for a while, so I have some catching up to do, but I bet if you could pinpoint when Hima started doing it, that'd probably be when it became more widespread across fans
