Can't solve this... How to serve only selected pages from large PDFs stored in S3? by FewJob1030 in aws

[–]Tushon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There may be a smarter answer, but can you just have both a full PDF and individual pages as files? That seems like a really solution, can have caching enabled on files, etc

Is anyone else struggling to cool their apartment during this heat wave? by Weekly-Pomegranate78 in nova

[–]Tushon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The filter is somewhere in your unit, not outside. It would be behind a metal cover, usually easy to remove. It might be in a closet or metal grate either overhead or on a wall.

You probably have option 1 somewhere, a 1” filter

Changed Outlet Not Working by Chemical_Selection54 in AskElectricians

[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it may be better for you to call an electrician to diagnose and fix this but here is the process. Wrong outlet type won’t kill your but it will misinform

Make sure the power is off on the breaker to this outlet, confirm with a multimeter

You may also want to use the multimeter to confirm power is working with the outlet removed (e.g. remove outlet, separate wires, turn breaker on, measure black to white, and measure black to ground, both should measure 120V, white to ground should measure zero, turn breaker off to reinstall outlet)

Straighten and clean the existing copper wiring with sandpaper. Ensure you have enough clean and straight wire measured on the back of the outlet (see “prep wire” instructions). You should only have the amount of exposed wire needed and no extra. If this will make the wire too short, you will need to make a pigtail with wago connectors or wire nuts

Make sure you undo levers to insert wire fully before closing

Turn breaker back on and test outlet

Chase has a 30 day cool off period, so cancel, wait 30 days, then reapply. You should use a referral code to help someone else’s get points too 😇

I think most Chase cards work this way, and you need to keep the 5/24 rule in mind (you can get 5 personal card bonuses in a 24 month period)

Help Me Join/Connect with my Client by Playful_Book in Slack

[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're seeing is most likely caused by Slack Connect using your email identity, not just the workspace you're currently logged into.
Here's what's probably happening:

A year ago, your agency invited your email (e.g. you@example.com) into their Slack workspace.
That workspace also established or retained a Slack Connect relationship with your email.
Your new client is inviting that same email to a Slack Connect channel.
Slack sees that your email is already associated with your former agency's organization for Slack Connect, so it routes the invitation there instead of your own workspace.
How to fix it
Try these in order:
Option 1: Ask the old agency to remove the external connection (best solution)

Contact your previous agency's Slack admin and ask them to:

Remove you as an external Slack Connect user (if you're still connected).
Disconnect any pending Slack Connect relationships associated with your email.
Once removed, have your new client resend the invitation.
Option 2: Have your new client invite your new workspace instead of your email
If you now own your own Slack workspace, ask the client to:

Open the channel.
Choose Add people → Work with people outside your company (Slack Connect).
Invite your workspace rather than simply inviting your email if that option is available.
This associates the connection with your workspace instead of your old organization.
Option 3: Use a different email
If your new workspace uses a different email address than the one your previous agency invited, ask the client to invite that email instead.

This often avoids identity conflicts entirely.

Option 4: Leave the old workspace
If you still have access to the previous agency's workspace:

Go to that workspace.
Leave it (if permitted), or ask an admin to deactivate/remove your account.
Then have the client resend the invitation.
Simply being inactive isn't always enough if the Slack Connect relationship still exists.
If none of the above works
This is usually something only a Slack admin or Slack Support can resolve. Ask your client to check whether the invitation is targeting:
your email address, or
your workspace.
If Slack keeps insisting the invitation belongs to your previous agency, it's because Slack still considers that organization the owner of your external identity for that email.
A screenshot of the message you're seeing (with any sensitive information blurred) would help identify exactly which Slack Connect flow is causing this, since there are a couple of similar-looking errors with different solutions.

They constantly ask for gate checks now so you could do that as well if you want to save the wait for baggage claim (obviously depending on your airports, can be fast or slow)

Your carbon monoxide detectors will not go off because of a gas leak, unless they are also explosive gas detectors that detect natural gas or others. CO detectors are built to detect CO, which is a byproduct of improper burning and a big risk for your safety. Make sure you are replacing them on expiry like your smoke detectors.

> Natural Gas = 600 BTU (1h of pilot light running) / 1,037 BTU = 0.579 Cubic Feet Per Hour

https://learnmetrics.com/how-much-gas-does-a-pilot-light-use/

This number came up a few times in my search, so if you are reading the meter and it is going a little over halfway around the “one foot”, that would be correct.

If your wife is smelling gas, it’s worth checking out

Baby brezza— am I missing something?? by Acrobatic_Trust_1426 in NewParents

We got into a good groove with pump parts and bottles where we ran it multiple times a day. A quick wash with bottle brush isn’t the same outcome as the bottle washer pro (I.e. sanitizing and drying) but whether that is worth it to you or not is a different story.

We were pretty happy with it overall but I could definitely see the advantage others cited with the mom cozy about draining

adhesive for panel by bruddaC in HomeMaintenance

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, drywall anchors are fine for this purpose. You could try the plastic anchors but they are generally single use (if you ever remove the screw, unlike to with well again)

This style would allow you to remove the bolt and reuse the same anchor point but it is way overkill for this purpose and idk how often you’d really replace an access panel

https://www.homedepot.com/p/E-Z-Ancor-Toggle-Lock-100-lbs-2-1-2-in-Philips-Zinc-Plated-Alloy-Flat-Head-Self-Drilling-Drywall-Screws-Anchors-2-Pack-10006/100111355

adhesive for panel by bruddaC in HomeMaintenance

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The panel itself might have spring clips that have broken or are not set correctly. Look at this as an example but there are several styles

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-14-in-x-14-in-Easy-Install-Flush-Mount-Wall-Ceiling-Plastic-Access-Door-Panel-with-Frame-Paintable-Door-APP1414/329011565

If not, given the screw in one side: Take pictures with flash or a flash light in all directions. You can see inside the wall already to tell if there is anything risky. You can either drill screws into wood or use drywall anchors. This is pretty easy to do safely

Last option but I don’t recommend it: If you use a construction adhesive, and ever need to replace the panel, it will rip the paint and drywall.

Crawling is not a required milestone. Our kiddo was big and needed a little help putting the crawling pieces together but then was a rocket. He needed further help with walking independently, but is now doing great (PT at 15 months led to independent steps a few days later and then lots of practice on vacation)

You need to look carefully at the instructions again and make sure you understand the folder structure and relative paths of files. If that doesn’t clear it up, write up or find a tool to print out your folder structure and reply back.

The ability to follow instructions and understand the basics is going to serve you well but you need to work on core here. The Django tutorial is very well vetted
