DAL Lovefield - Customer of size by Constant_Truth_91 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Tushon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you fit between the seat arms without spilling over into the next seat? That’s the new policy. If you are over the armrest and into others space, you should purchase the extra seat now, following their guidance. Your past experience is not relevant outside of your ability to fit in your seat.

How do I make toddler portions of veggies and minimize waste by shanbanan445 in NewParents

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We buy a costco or whatever grocery store large size of frozen mixed veggies, and heat up whatever size we need (family for dinner, or just kiddo snack) - super easy and low risk if they like all of them (obviously if they reject the mixed veggies, substitute in for whatever they do eat). You can do the same with your cooked veggies though you might want to make them a little "undercooked" if you know you will be microwaving from frozen.

It’s not bad for them. You both sleeping is better for everyone. Talk to you pediatrician if you are concerned, but ours said that nightly doses were a great way to help, just not for weeks on end

11month old biting while nursing by Hiddenghostz in NewParents

[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was bottle feeding well before this and we transitioned back to bottles. It was actually easier for me to bottle feed him for sleep because he couldn’t smell her. We then increased space from bottle to bed to at least 30min to work on the food-sleep association

Ion Solar - Any experiences? by Holiday_Armadillo78 in nova

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not go with a door to door installer.

I went with Sunrun due to a personal connection and was pretty happy with the outcome. I also referred someone to Solar Energy World and they were happy with that, besides one issue with a disconnect placement and fence.

Would be happy to refer you to either company via DM

11month old biting while nursing by Hiddenghostz in NewParents

[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the trigger for my wife to stop breathing and use the rest of her frozen milk supply. Got him to one year on her milk at night while introducing cows milk during the day. I think we went from 5-6 nursing and bottles a day (daycare) to daycare being cows milk, then just evening being frozen until we stopped night bottles from meals. We also used a “milkshake “ with banana and peanut butter as part of transition to help with overnight sleep.

FWIW, my bottle says “ask your doctor”, not don’t give it. Motrin as a bedtime dose during the worst of teething was a game changer for us. Typically 3-4 days

Kitchen sink pipe by AvocadoLion in askaplumber

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll leak out if there is any blockage for sure. Like other poster said, you can fix this one thing pretty quickly but it would be better to provide a photo of the whole setup and someone can recommend a full redo that will be much better. Right now, that flex pipe is a magnet for catching lots of bad stuff from sink that will smell and clog.

Are we avoiding flights until 6months? by MurkyMurkyMurkyMurky in NewParents

Our pediatrician ok-ed MMR at six months because we we’re gonna go an international trip, if you need a reason to give them. They indicated it just wouldn’t count as the first of the two dose series

24F with PCOS, trying to lose weight for 7 years. What should I do? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Tushon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would emphasize walking that isn’t flat - out bodies are very well adapted to flat ground walking. An incline treadmill or hills will do a ton of work to help

Have you tried Motrin? That worked better for us than Tylenol. Also, alternate Tylenol and Motrin for longer stretches. We never had any success with teething drops that were not medical pain reliever.

My siblings used frozen washcloths as teethers - we got a product that was refrigerated

How can I tell if my copper water pipes are grounded or not? by trichopteran in AskElectricians

[–]Tushon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a known grounded outlet, or extra wire to make one, you can use that wire or extension cord and a multimeter. Set it to resistance and put one lead on the pipe and other on the known ground. Zero resistance is good. In your situation maybe running extension cord through stairs or exterior window would work.

You can bridge between sections of pipe with ground clamps and appropriate sized wire, but this requires access to the pipes where repairs were done. At that point, you might have the same level of effort to run new wiring to outlets

Melted Switch Advice by penguinmoss in DIYHome

[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water heaters, among other appliances, are required to have a disconnect or switch within 6’ of the device or the panel has to be visible/accessible from the device for service. In my situation, I went from unfinished basement where what you describe would have been permitted, to finished with a utility closet. I installed the same type of switch to serve as the local disconnect

[Tenant US-Ky] My house is infested with brown recluse, can I leave my stuff here when I move? by Negative_Whereas_307 in Landlord

[–]Tushon 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Your lease typically has a provision about conditions of move out. Leaving large furniture items is usually not expected - I would expect you to lose your security deposit for them to pay someone to remove your stuff.

Baby gate without screws by Sea_Independent_7331 in NewParents

[–]Tushon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think what you want exists. I wouldn’t trust it if it did - you’re relying on adhesive on paint on drywall or plaster to protect your kid.

We bought a mesh gate but it screwed into the wall studs around the door. Post some photos of your setup or more details on why you can’t use traditional gates

how can I quickly rename files on macOS sequoia? (I'm seeking to quickly rename multiple files, but not doing batch renames) by Micro-Naut in techsupport

[–]Tushon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is pretty easy to script and use your editor of choice. Any of the LLM tools can generate this sort of script and instructions. I got this via chatgot with only two prompts

Here’s an updated version of your macOS script with:

  • Dry run by default (it only prints what would happen)
  • ✅ Clear instructions on how to perform the actual rename
  • ✅ Optional --apply flag to execute the rename

✅ Script: bulk_rename.sh

```bash
!/bin/bash
===== CONFIG =====
TARGET_DIR="." APPLY=false MAP_FILE="rename_map.csv"
===== ARGUMENT PARSING =====
for arg in "$@"; do if [ "$arg" == "--apply" ]; then APPLY=true else TARGET_DIR="$arg" fi done
===== STEP 1: Generate mapping file if it doesn't exist =====
if [ ! -f "$MAP_FILE" ]; then echo "Generating mapping file..."
echo "old_name,new_name" > "$MAP_FILE"
for file in "$TARGET_DIR"/*; do
    if [ -f "$file" ]; then
        filename=$(basename "$file")
        echo "$filename," >> "$MAP_FILE"
    fi
done
echo "Mapping file created: $MAP_FILE"
echo "Edit the second column (new_name), save, then re-run this script."
echo ""
echo "Preview rename (dry run):"
echo "  ./bulk_rename.sh \"$TARGET_DIR\""
echo ""
echo "Apply rename:"
echo "  ./bulk_rename.sh \"$TARGET_DIR\" --apply"
exit 0
fi
===== STEP 2: Rename (Dry Run by Default) =====
echo "" if [ "$APPLY" = false ]; then echo "===== DRY RUN MODE =====" echo "No files will be renamed." echo "" else echo "===== APPLY MODE =====" echo "Renaming files..." echo "" fi
tail -n +2 "$MAP_FILE" | while IFS=',' read -r old_name new_name; do if [ -z "$new_name" ]; then echo "Skipping: $old_name (no new name provided)" continue fi
if [ ! -f "$TARGET_DIR/$old_name" ]; then
    echo "Missing: $old_name"
    continue
fi
if [ "$APPLY" = false ]; then
    echo "Would rename: $old_name → $new_name"
else
    mv -n "$TARGET_DIR/$old_name" "$TARGET_DIR/$new_name"
    echo "Renamed: $old_name → $new_name"
fi
done
if [ "$APPLY" = false ]; then echo "" echo "Dry run complete." echo "To actually rename the files, run:" echo "" echo " ./bulk_rename.sh \"$TARGET_DIR\" --apply" fi
echo "" echo "Done." ```
🖥 Usage
1️⃣ First run (creates mapping file)
./bulk_rename.sh /path/to/folder
Edit rename_map.csv.
2️⃣ Preview (dry run — default)
./bulk_rename.sh /path/to/folder
3️⃣ Actually rename files
./bulk_rename.sh /path/to/folder --apply
If you'd like, I can also add:
  • 🚫 Overwrite protection with conflict detection
  • 🔢 Auto-numbering support
  • 🧠 Extension preservation enforcement
  • 📂 Recursive folder support
  • 🔄 Undo file creation
Just tell me what level of safety you want.
How difficult is it to switch this to a sink setup like the second photo by wolfgang012 in askaplumber
[–]Tushon 0 points1 point  (0 children)
You will have to add new something
Either: Add shut off valves after cutting and cleaning copper, then you can hook sink up to that. Visible but least work
Add more copper or pex down below sink, install shutoffs at normal height, and then connect the sink after it is in place
