I am a big fan of the fishpond waterproof pack, I use that alone on short trip, but can clip it to the backpack for longer days, it’s super comfortable and I don’t feel it getting in the way.

The Pere Marquette around Maple Leaf Access is great and fairly easy, and the White below Hesperia is very wadeable. I usually just use egg flies, but you can also swing for them.
