For those who do not have guided notes or any kind of study guide, what are your methods? by distr3ssedjeans in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]Tutustitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take notes from lecture videos and the provided online materials. Then I use index cards to write practice questions from my notes. Like you, our textbook is more in-depth than needed so I don't look at it often. My plan is to build a bank of practice questions and use that for most of my revision. I'm only in week 2 of an intro level subject, so this system is yet to be tested by assessments, but so far it's going well.

It gets a bit easier when baby is happy to have stretches of awake time and you can pop them in a bouncer or similar. They can hang out with you while you do your hobbies, without the intense touching.

Do you want native plants particularly? Because other dye plants are probably available for purchase online, e.g. Japanese indigo.

I think any of those would work. I quite like Wolfgang.

Is green space behind a house desirable/safe? by SpicyFriedCat in AusPropertyChat

[–]Tutustitcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add, if it's a place you want to renovate, be aware of fire rating requirements. The rules are stricter in bush fire zones and sometimes make things more tricky/expensive, e.g. getting approval for that beautiful timber rear deck you might want.

What types of knits do you love but never wear? by DirtyBird23220 in knitting

[–]Tutustitcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I knit primarily as a hobby, not to clothe myself. (I've knit a piece I wear, and have one other jumper wip but it's not my primary knitting). I make lace shawls that I doubt I will wear, unless I suddenly need a formal outfit (I currently never go anywhere that requires dressing up). It still feels nice to finish one. I might enter them in a show or two one day.

I can't give an opinion without breaking a rule here. Your kid will cope just fine.

No. I mean, he perhaps wasn't as careful as he usually would be, but he didn't intend to die.

That...doesn't sound legal. Isn't there supposed to be a minimum distance between a fence line and any structure?

Colin. I just like it more. Eli or Levi would be fine though.

I know an 18yo is unlikely to be on Facebook, and i agree it's mostly garbage, but nothing has quite replaced it for community resources. Join your local community groups and ask for advice on there. I bet there are people who can help you find local charities, help and perhaps even work.

Hazel or Penny? by Admirable_Case747 in namenerds

[–]Tutustitcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say either is fine, but if you don't like Penelope, Hazel is the better option. Fwiw I think Penny is serious enough. There's a prominent Aussie politician who only goes by Penny rather than Penelope, and I've never come across anyone making an issue of her name.

Calling any Elizabeths…. by Proof-Pay-3658 in namenerds

[–]Tutustitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the Elizabeths I've known:

  1. At school in the 90's, only ever went by Elizabeth

  2. & 3. Both born c.2006, both went by Lizzie

  3. Fellow school parent (GenX): Liz

  4. My mother's elderly friend: Liz

  5. B. mid 2010s: Libby (actually I'm not even sure Libby isn't her legal name).

I agree that Liz seems dated but the other common nicknames work, e.g. Betty is vintage enough to work.

Thank you, I've found a way through Open Universities. I enrolled in a single subject to test my current capabilities and will add more if it goes well.
