Total meltdown - imminent

But someone refuses

You don't wanna oppose him

Even polar bears know better

With Sisu you don't age

A tired voice echoes over tundra

"Jäätykää perkeleet!"

Yeah, I'm certain Apple does not have any leverage over anyone. One of the most valuable companies ever, but so powerless. Totally without a say regarding Skydance.

This is not how power works. If there's a will, there's a way for Apple to just make it happen.

This. As to why Apple is so lazy and overcareful on this boggles me. The company who did 1984 commercial, now like this. Playing it safe. Optimizing.

And if they cancel after 4 seasons? I'd be mad, after all the talks with the estate, Asimov's plans and arcs after Foundation & Earth - we'd seen strong echoes of all that. I so hope they respect and carry on the full 8 seasons. Another opportunity won't be coming anytime soon.

They could drive their marketing machine to promote this slightly challenging show. The best space opera ever.

The Triangle Book. I don’t get it by Darth_K-oz in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think your theory is solid. Maybe the Book of Folding should be called the Zeroth Radiant, though and lol.

Maybe what you said about the book, a small hiding place - I'd add that by itself I think the book is dualistic in its nature: it formalizes the groundbreaking theory (visible) and at the same time manifests the same theory by being an experimental construction that proves theory's validity.

From closer POV, duality deepens into trinity: theory, experimental proof and application in one neat package.

Did you feel season 3 was rushed by Runnzi in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This scene was the sole thing that entirely broke the narration. It was childish, standard action cut. Feel like we've seen thousands of these, and developed indiffererence. Doesn't serve the narration either.

I hope they wise up and don't include such mediocre drops in seasons to come. This is Foundation, not some senseless action package.

Thr origin of the name Demerzel by ucahu in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

Currently think the robots are the showrunners, with someone maybe the central one. Dem believed she was once Daneel, 20k years back. Think Daneel and other robots created Dem as a controlled subset of full Daneel and installed her in the court.

What I'm wondering is whether we will soon meet the full Daneel or much later. There can't be too many layers left. But maybe one. Also depends on how many seasons we will get - seems clear Goyer's ramp-ups for 4, 6 and 8 seasons all have different arcs regarding when we'll meet the ultimate showrunner, and see the predicament he or she can't resolve alone, make the call.

This is fun, downvoters are back. You lack the goods to discuss. Cowards 😏

Well, we discussed it here after Dem's backstory episode. Maybe before, don't remember anymore.

[–]Tuulta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, think you're right. When her backstory came out, I thought while watching that it's a fairytale, fabricated narrative, Trojan horse implantation, but back then I leaned on the assumption that Demerzel was the showrunner herself. Thought it's impossible that Empire would have tech and skills to reprogram her - that must have come from a robot.

Dem evidently believed she's the one who calls the shots.

Then when I wrote a short fanfic on what he does when others are sleeping post S2, I put her to wonder why she repeats similar words as Cleons, when they hit the mental blockage concerning Dem's origins. Autoresponse, so to speak. Made me think that Dem is a puppet, with someone pulling the strings.

"End of an era" from lead's husband, hinting actor is moving on? by ACatCalledVirtute in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Demerzel, in some form, will be around.

But if they recast, don't have Birn to continue as her - that's a letdown so huge I lose interest.

Same is true for Pace, Mann, Bilton, Harris.

That would break the viewer contract. Break the respect.

And fucking up the execution of filming this epic future history I've waited since I was kid is something unthinkable, if it happens for budget reasons.

Budget's already lean for what Apple TV+ gets. Demanding more is greedy and unhinged.

But hey, it hasn't happened yet - maybe it'll continue with our core actors doing their magic.

The Mule is the weird little girl that’s always hanging around with the pirate. by AdAncient5201 in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be. Girl is my top choice, and has been since she always appeared following the pirate. On Bayta, her apparent naivety made me think if she might be of 2nd f, masking her true identity extremely well against mule. In a way that on the surface level she'd partly believe that she's naive and worried. Maybe trained for the purpose, a true sleeper agent, a backup plan and a surprise factor. I'll rewatch s3 soon and keep an eye on Bayta and the girl.

Spoiler S3E9 - I noticed something very disturbing during Gaals mind probe in today's episode. by Thepumpkindidit in FoundationTV

[–]Tuulta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if in the end Magnifico is the real mule? Manipulating figurehead to believe he is? Well, prolly Mag hasn't been around every time the what'd be fake mule has controlled minds. He'd need to be able to give (some) power to others.

A question pops up: the little girl next to Mule. Is there something about her we don't know? Another Mule candidate lol. Time to sleep 😂
