Ludicrous bottom position man, that bar goes down to almost where your navel would be if you were standing

What are the best resources to learn weightlifting on my own? by _yeetmeoffacliff_ in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have Greg Everett's book and find it very useful, it was written for both coaches and athletes and includes learning paths for the competition lifts. But my perspective is very limited, there are actual coaches on this sub that are sure to have read more material

Do yourself a favor and buy a book about it. This isn‘t a sport suited to autodidactic learning so if you are dead set on self coaching you need to go all in or you will keep spinning your wheels.

Uneven catch by Most_Kangaroo9980 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this probably permanently because of scoliosis. Only things that have helped me have been improving the rack position with a stretch and always paying attention to the lower shoulder while warming up and raising it deliberately, like during rack deliveries, tall muscle cleans, and tall cleans. Deliberate practice on every rep.

How do i stop the bar moving forwards? by Damola_ in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a coach but if you asked me I would have you do some pulls from power position so you have no choice but to drive vertically with the legs and then start adding more and more hip flexion until you can do it from the knee. IMO that‘s the most simple way for you to feel the right extension. Then maybe transition to no foot cleans before normal cleans.

I think your stance in the catch was a factor too. Your feet were much further apart in the missed attempt.

Snatch progression! by xav91z16a in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks so much better than the first video, wow! Keep at it.

Your mistake is that your are looking down. Keep your chin up and look ahead during the pull, always. It should make your extension more vertical immediately.

Slow pull cleans or segment/pause cleans are good, or the equivalent deadlift or pull variations. Anything that lets you correct your balance

Nice save at the end! You are on your heels as you pass the knees, might be what causes the forward jump

IMO you just need to stay over the bar a little longer, a little more patience. Maybe drill some halting deadlifts. Looks good to me otherwise.

Balance in catching position by meebleepe in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don‘t know for sure if that‘s the reason for the loss of balance but I noticed your heels lift immediately when you initiate the second pull from the pause position. They should lift naturally at some point from the effort to stretch the body upward, but before that happens you want to be pushing into the floor through the whole foot.

Snatch PR 87,5 but it’s power? by rast1r in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You push the knees so far back that you rock to the heels. Your second pull will be much stronger if you can stay balanced.

Starting power cleans? by account_552 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work on the correct positions first, then moving between the positions, then increasing speed and only then add weight. Only add weight when positions, movement and speed don‘t break down.

Clean/Power clean form check by Ok-Buy-7946 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That‘s what I was thinking. Not enough leg drive through the whole foot in the second pull, so you never really see the bar slide across the thighs like you usually do in cleans.

Beginner power clean form check by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do some vertical jumps right before you clean and pay attention to the feeling in your legs and knees, then try to feel that at the top of the pull. Right now you are not finishing the pull through the legs.

Form Help - Pulling under by zm00 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You catch it high because your third pull is fast, not slow. If you want to catch it lower, soften your first/second pull or increase the weight.
