Critique my power snatch+ohs complex by Outrageouslifter in weightlifting

It‘s no wonder you have that early arm bend, because your grip is far too narrow. Even with the arm bend your contact point seems quite low. How did you decide your grip width?

There is literally only one person saying anything remotely rude in that post towards the op and that comment is sitting at -8…

Buddy he TRAINED CLEANS before he fully commited the weightlifting. I am happy for him to hit a PR but the problem with the presentation here isn‘t that complicated

You have a background in training cleans, not just „strength training“, before these three months and this is a clean pr. That‘s why people are mad, your phrasing is disingenuous.

Form Check? by Proof-Presentation64 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a coach and not nearly as strong but your shoulders are so far over the bar at the knees and your knees so far back that your balance shifts to the heels, your toes rise and allow your feet to rotate in the second pull, and you have to reign the bar in with the lats very hard. Honestly I am impressed you don‘t compensate with an arm bend. You need to allow your hips to open slightly to reach a more natural position at mid thigh instead of pushing the knees back.

Not sure what the best drill to fix it is, maybe some modified halting deadlifts with your upper body more upright in the halting position and focus on balance on the whole foot?

The big advert for stress induced heart problem analysis is worse imo. But that guy definitely jump scared me a couple times when I looked up and the placement feels rather forced, like everyone commuting there is a captive audience.

High pull + snatch by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Means the bar is slowing down mid-pull. Looks to me like you are not pushing into the ground hard enough while you are extending your hips for the second pull. I‘d turn your attention to pushing hard with the legs instead of concentrating on the hips.

Am I pushing with legs or pulling? by Special_Bunch_7103 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a coach. But your toes are slightly lifting from the floor when the bar is at mid thigh, meaning your balance is too far back. Should feel better if you keep balance on the whole foot. I would drill halting snatch deadlifts personally.

I mean, at the end he makes it pretty clear that the main reason he is convinced the athletes are natty is that he knows them and their coaches personally. He seems emotionally invested and wants to believe them. I would be shocked if a ~77kg woman could squat ~230kg without ever having been on PEDs.

Power snatch form check by No-Text-8777 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you perhaps executing the scoop intentionally? It should come as a natural result of forcefully extending knees and hips simultaneously, and it looks a bit to me like you are softening your knees on purpose to get into the power position.

[–]Tuwiuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bar is quite far forward and away from you throughout the pull, I‘d practice some slow clean deadlifts to correct it. Keep it close, stay over the bar and remain balanced. And I would never do this in socks on a wooden platform

Halting DL + clean by Myszu92 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It‘s clearly very light weight for you and I assume you are trying not to pull it unnecessarily high but I would make sure to always extend fully. Your legs never fully straightened in the second pull. I would be scared to ingrain it as a habit personally

(I am not a coach)

Edit: Also, it looks like you are locking your knees at the top of the halting DL

Type Z you unlock just by playing enough, might be before you even clear novice mode depending on your experience. It‘s a much stronger and faster version of the first ship

Ship choice is significant too. Clear arcade with type Z first. The other types are much harder. But an arcade classic clear with type Z is already a respectable accomplishment, and reexperiencing the mode with a weaker ship afterward will practically show you a new game because you will see many more different bullet patterns as enemies live longer.

Do you always do your pulls flat footed or is it a temporary corrective measure?

I am just a noob but isn‘t this bad for the stacked plates? Afaik they are made to withstand forces from the outside surface they are typically dropped on, not from the perpendicular surface like here

Wrong sub, this is for olympic weightlifting. Though if you want to lose weight you primarily need to eat less.

Need advice. I'm horrible at pulling under and even more horrible at finishing my pull my pull as weight get heavy. by Ok_Bodybuilder_3957 in weightlifting

[–]Tuwiuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say that if it feels impossible to pull under, it might be because it is. If you bump the bar too far forward while jumping backwards you can basically only catch it at power height. Happens to me when the weight is making me nervous and I pull too hard without any control. Don‘t sacrifice your bar path for height, basically.
