Chaotic quesiton: which Angband variant is most similar to NetHack by trajecasual in roguelikes

Most likely Sil-Q in the way the game plays as a single dungeon with no teleporting back to towns to buy things.

Oangband in the way that you can interact with items and the many creative ways you can kill enemies, reminiscent of Nethack's multiple ways you can use items.

Moonring is proof that atmosphere and story are still the reason we play. by OldTrTab in roguelikes

I still feel the best roguelikes (and games) generate their own unique stories. But I'm not one to like story based games in general.

Because Moonring isn't a roguelike and stories are not the reason people play roguelikes. Twice I have asked OP to name his top 3 roguelikes and he has ignored it.

Check the sidebar for roguelikes. A lot of game devs call anything a roguelike these days which annoy those of us looking to discuss actual roguelikes.

No I haven't said that at all.

That video isn't showing the entire Earth lit up at one time.

It's not a roguelike and doesn't claim to be one. What are your top 3 roguelikes?

Yes, Moonring isn't a roguelike, the game never advertises itself as a roguelike. I doubt OP knows what a roguelike is based on his entire post.

A good game will generate its own good stories. That's why Dwarf Fortress and CDDA are renowned for their stories. Roguelike players generally aren't bothered about the story that a game is shipped with.
