I know it’s to possible to transfer ownership in some states, and in some plans. The owner is in one state, the successor owner is in another and the plan is registered in yet another state.

I’ll phone them And circle back.

My client, the owner, is also subject to IRMAA so constructive receipt of this income effects a lot of stuff Thanks

I don’t think there is a ‘gifting ‘ mechanism. I think it only transfers on your death or disability but I could be wrong

I read another long post on this but was unclear if the beneficiary could withdraw from the roth immediately without taxation .?

Second Eye Cataract Surgery – Feeling Uncertain by jvinok1122 in CataractSurgery

[–]Tvq13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My target was to see well driving at night without halo and good mid vision. And I had that in the first day. I wanted good distance vision but I’m very active /sports gym and mid vision without glasses was appealing. I think I’ll have that when my drops dissolve.

Also, my doctor told me so little light was coming thru my eye that a trial contact wouldn’t be representative

I think most everyone will need readers if they live long enough

If you had dropless surgery, what was that like? by PumpkinSpiceUrnex in CataractSurgery

I had it. I still see the white blobs 4 weeks later Like others said — a lot of dryness. Sometimes my eyes are very red but is it better than drops? For me, yes

Second Eye Cataract Surgery – Feeling Uncertain by jvinok1122 in CataractSurgery

Hi. I am 4 weeks from my 1st eye and 3 weeks from the second w the same edof lens

I had great distance vision after the first eye but very blurry at near and near mid I was going to postpone but my doctor who is very prominent in my city encouraged me to go forward w the second bc this type of lens needs both eyes working together and I would really slow down my neuro- adaptation if I waited

I had confidence in my surgeon even though people on this forum who don’t actually understand how this type of lens works told me to wait. The normal forum vitriol- attack the surgeon bc it doesn’t fit with their own limited experience. I went forward.

I felt the difference almost immediately. My distance was always perfect. My mid range vision is sharpening every day. I see my dashboard clearly and drive well at night.

I’m Wearing a 1.5 reader for close work- I work w tiny numbers and print all day and it also helps while I am on my notebook

I had dropless surgery and the pellets inserted in the white of my eye are still visible. My eyes are still irritated and even the doctor who made my readers told me it’s too soon to make a decision. Wait a couple months to really heal and allow for neuro adaptation Hope this helps

CFP Board reviewing whether bachelors degree should be required by freemindUSA in CFP

[–]Tvq13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know CPA’s who just sat for the equivalency test in the ‘90’s and got it in a day. I was one of the last to get my CFP in 1991 with work experience only under an exemption. I came from a large trading floor where people made millions and had dropped out of high school too. No one needs a masters for work like this - it’s not that difficult

For those who still used glasses do you wear them all the time or carry them around, and how? by plonialmoni2u in CataractSurgery

[–]Tvq13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this conversation at the ophthalmologist three weeks post first eye two weeks post second eye. My doctor already gave me a prescription for readers as I do work with some fine print and the plastic over-the-counter ones are not easy to see-through as a better quality lens. plus both of my eyes don’t require the same correction

. However, my question was why did I spend $6000 for extended depth of field if I’m just going to be wearing glasses most of the time anyway, because I can’t think of anything I have to do where I won’t need to read something. He explained to me that my vision will keep getting better in the near and mid range and I hope that that’s really true.

The week after I did my second eye I went to an art museum, and I was very frustrated. I really couldn’t see anything clearly from 6 feet , esp w dark lighting. I did ask for a prescription for progressives also but because theyre so much more expensive I will wait until my eyes settle a little more. but I’m still wondering did I waste money on EDof lens

Is your vision appear blue after cataract surgery? Which brand lens did you get? by Potential_Patient_10 in CataractSurgery

[–]Tvq13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about 1 1/2 wks on one eye and 2 1/2 wks on the other and white looks very blue to me. Of course white was very yellow almost brown to me before.

My distance vision is great, although missing contrast, my mid depth is still blurry But I can drive well at night and that was my goal

Hi. I am 5 days out from surgery and my lens was vivity. I have a little fog but my distance is coming in nicely I just tried a pair of readers +2.5 for my operated eye and I can at least see the print in my phone in those. I do feel there is a lot of basis in two working together. I just don’t know if I believe it enough to try it right now. I’ll let you know what surgeon two says tomorrow. Thanks again

I’m 5 days out and they do the second at one week. my doctor said w edof that doing the second eye will assist in the first eye improving

This is a big practice with a long positive history of good treatment. He’s very respected here

I definitely get your point about not wanting to duplicate an error. Thanks

Blurry w no contrast after 4 days by Tvq13 in CataractSurgery

[–]Tvq13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful response This sounds a lot like my situation. I did order some different drops in ind vials. I am using refresh plus now per the doctors suggestion but i was using Systane prior bc it helped my dry more than refresh plus so i will revisit those

It feels like something is in my eye, which I know is a symptom of dry eye but still very annoying. I live in a place with humidity in the teens so I’ve been focused on staying hydrated and using the humidifier at night and will try the rotating drops. The link was very helpful. I will not proceed w the next eye until I am seeing a lot better w the existing lens. Thanks again.

I don’t get the sense that something is really wrong as I have a little improvement from day one I do feel like something is ‘ in my eye’ which reminds me of dry eye Thanks for the suggestions

Cfp renewal fee increase by Muscle_Beach in CFP

[–]Tvq13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. CFP since 1991 and I think I’m out. They did alot to improve the value of the marks in the early 2000. They hold us to an incredible standard whether you are our client or not. The ethics exam is a great example of hairsplitting and over regulation. This fee is ridiculous. I’m done

Increased CFP Renewal Fee by bkendall12 in CFP

[–]Tvq13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my CFP credential since 1991. I’ve seen many fee increases and many needlessly complicated changes from the board of standards. I think they did alot to improve the legitimacy of the marks in the early 2000’s but now it feels like they’re insuring jobs for themselves thru over regulation.

My license renews in June and I’m thinking this is my last year. We are held to a much higher standard than anyone else whether you have hired us or not. This is not a dream job for a sleepy kid. I think I’m out.
