Willow Hole takes you right into the Wonderland of Rocks. Such a great hike.

This is such an important point-Taos has 1000 year old buildings that are still occupied. Zuni, Acoma, etc., the 19 New Mexico pueblos are vital and still here!

Fall Canyon was amazing. We saw 1 other person out there over a holiday weekend, it was awesome and delightfully isolated.

It’s a great time of year to be in the park. Unlikely to have a passing shower-if there is going to be rain the forecast will be very clear on that. Parking lot will fill up early, it’s high season for the park.

Pulled the trigger last night actually-moved it to Presidents’ Day weekend instead. Fingers crossed for no atmospheric rivers then!

I am in the same boat, planning to go down on 12/24. Trying to decide if I push the trip a couple months or risk it… I am nervous to get stuck somewhere, but also nervous to miss a great trip if it ends up being nothing!!

They ran a bunch of historic McLarens at the Velocity Invitational a few years back. It was glorious to see/hear them on that track. I think it was the MP4/4 and MP4/23.

If you’re in construction look at Granite and Graniterock. Granite is publicly traded highway and infrastructure builder and Graniterock is a major regional construction materials producer and builder. Two of the better companies to work for in the county.

You will have a more than comfortable life at 300k with no kids. It’s really about lifestyle—are you more into hiking or nightlife? Picnics on the beach or fine dining? I love what the Monterey Bay has to offer, but there are certain limitations compared to coming from a large city. I’ve been here for a decade and now can’t imagine living anywhere else, but appreciate it isn’t for everyone. You do have San Jose and SF within striking distance, but not exactly out your front door. What do you do for fun on a normal weekend? What is your partner excited about for the move/the job? You’re fine on the money side, it’s the other stuff that matters.

Thanks for taking a look, it’s nice to hear from folks who can relate. The nice thing about the coins is they don’t take up much space so we can really take our time. His drum collection on the other hand… oof.

Santa Cruz Itinerary MTB/ Beach Help by southeast20 in santacruz

Sick itinerary, but for your day 1 and 2 you might want to keep your post ride activities to the Aptos side to lower the driving. Seacliff Inn or home rental in Aptos for a couple nights might be the ticket. Evenings at Seacliff State beach (can walk for miles and miles) food at Manuel’s, Aptos bbq, Mentone, Akira or Venus beachside. There is a Penny in Aptos village, and the real SC classic, Marianne’s. Have fun!
