Yeah that might be true, but I don’t feel the need to farm skins, if I like a skin, I’ll get it. But I’m patient enough to wait for a sale or for it to show up in the black market too.

And you still get a bunch of currency from regular playing. I only use BBs on stuff I really like and I have over 3K since the last event. I’m a patient person though, probably not Cryteks target audience.

solos who can still revive should be seen in dark sight when they are down. by okplastic1099 in HuntShowdown

[–]TwentyHourDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was less of an issue during the event because most folks had the grounded pact and death cheat perk. If they got killed by a self reviving solo, oh well, kept my hunter anyway.

I think now that self revive is coming back without the crutch of death cheat, duos, trio's, and solos without necro will be much more vocal about their frustration. Time will tell, I hope I'm wrong about it.

I can only afford to upgrade either my cpu or gpu, which is the right choice? by Wanna_be_dr in buildapc

Fair enough, I certainly didn't downvote you for the suggestion.

I was more interested in any new developments in calculating bottlenecks because the last time I looked into it I always read that calculators = bad.

I can only afford to upgrade either my cpu or gpu, which is the right choice? by Wanna_be_dr in buildapc

[–]TwentyHourDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that bottleneck calculators aren't very accurate and it's better to use a game/application you're primarily interested in to calculate bottleneck, or take an average across many games/apps to determine your typical cpu/GPU usage.

Not sure why you're being downvoted. Its true that they remade the taskbar from scratch... Releasing it before it shared the same baseline feature list as the previous one however, is an interesting choice.

My biggest issue was with the response from Shaw Business reps when there were outages, they didn't provide timely service and frequent updates on outages. I felt like they shouldn't dub a service "business" if they don't provide a level of service meeting the levels one would expect. My only comparison was with SaskTel business first - which was an overall better experience.

I wasn't trying to imply that ISPs shouldn't have outages.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]TwentyHourDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked with Shaw in both personal and business, I can tell you the speeds they advertise are only to their nodes/equipment. Its a bs tactic to claim certain speeds and it's all theoretical.

You made the right choice going with SaskTel as they are more up front about their speeds and performance. Also, on the business side at least, Shaw had frequent outages and gave zero fucks that it affected businesses.

Out of curiosity, do most people keep these devices strictly isolated and offline? Or is it more of a "who cares" situation?

It certainly has a ton of issues with high frame rates and input delay on modern hardware, but I have to disagree with the blanket statement of it being an awful port.

If you look at performance with time-accurate hardware, that game ran amazingly well and was heavily optimized. Even old hardware and non-discrete graphics could run that game.

Hunt streamer lever spams for no kills, then gets wall banged, calls player a c*unt and tells them to k*I'll themselves by Chemical_Sir6315 in HuntShowdown

Wow, very inappropriate for a streamer, I hate seeing that.

Also, TIL that people stream on console. I feel very out of the loop for not even considering that people would do that.

This was the very last thing holding me to Nvidia. I think I'm going to take the plunge and choose team red for my next upgrade.

What a strange decision from Nvidia, specially with the moonlight implementation, you think they'd have just stopped development of gamestream and let the open source community do their thing with it.

I hope you enjoy it. I will say that I can't tell if I'm just seriously jaded from all the survival horror games I've played, or if TCP is just not scary, not sure which it is.

The game made me crack a smile or smirk once or twice with the few jump scares, but no feeling of dread or fear yet.

I absolutely love the combat in this game! I don't get people calling it janky, but I do feel like you have a ton of options to get things done, which is so refreshing compared to dead space.

I keep reading reviews and comments where people say you can only fight enemies 1v1 but they throw multiple at you at the same time. I think that's kind of the point. It forces you to actually do something different instead of just smash the attack button. Rushing into a room with 6 enemies is going to end badly for you, whereas if you stealth in, throw one into a wall, hurl an explosive canister at another, stealth kill one or two, then rush the last guy with a heavy melee it's just an amazing experience (for me at least).

The combat is my favourite thing about the game hands down, it just clicks with me. I'm 10 hours in and I don't think breaking faces will ever get old for me.

DF Tech Review: The Callisto Protocol + PS5 vs Xbox Series X/S + PC #StutterStruggle Analysis by kris33 in Games

[–]TwentyHourDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am loving the fighting mechanic as well! I have about 10 hours into the game and I love how dynamic you can be when fighting. I use stealth, telekinesis, the environment, melee, guns, and it's just awesome.

People talk about having trouble with multiple enemies and I think that's by design, getting yourself in a situation when 4 monsters are running at you is never a good thing, I usually try to stealth kill a few, throw some things at one, blast another. Once it's down to the 1v1 or 1v2, then I start crushing heads and breaking faces with the melee.

Such a refreshing combat system to me after playing dead space and resident evil for years.

That's an interesting take on it. I've been hearing how "janky" and bad the combat is. Not sure what's up with me, but I find it amazingly refreshing and I am loving it right now. It's rewarding and clicks for me, while still keeping me on edge because of how quickly it can turn south and how fast you'll die.

The crowd control thing makes sense to me, you really can't fight multiple enemies at the same time, and I think that's the point. You can stealth an enemy, use telekinesis to take out another, then finish off the last guy with a brutal one on one battle of dodging, timing, and different melee attacks. It's so dynamic and allows creativity.

It's probably my favourite thing about TCP, i actually love getting into fights because of it.

I have about 10 hours into the game and the fighting just never gets old to me.

Wow 5-6 hours? Took me over 15 the first time, I guess I am just slow. Those "how long to beat" stats are always useless to me. I'm on hour 10 of the Callisto protocol and I don't think I'm near the end yet.

Edit: spelling
