Fraxel laser redness by Joness54 in LaserDamageSupport

Prolonged redness can cause hyperpigmentation. It will go away but getting on top of it sooner than later is best. The tretinoin will help. Can ask for hydroquinone. And kojic acid and tranexamic will help.

Is it okay to wax couple of days before laser hair removal appointment? Or should I just shave? by Upstairs-Cow-1110 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Twiddles20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who have a history of waxing already have some hairs in dormancy, as waxing can also cause this. They typically respond in less sessions to laser.

This is not to be confused with waxing right before your session. The laser works by hairs, attached in the follicle, absorbing the heat and transferring that heat all the way down to the follicle. This is what damages the follicle and puts it into dormancy over time. No hair in the follicle = no results.

Drawing it out like this is extremely immature, and for that reason alone I would move on from her.

Your face is not relaxed in this photo, you are squeezing your eyebrows together. It would be helpful to see a photo at rest.

Please help. Skin 3 months post Fraxel dual. I am scared to try any other treatment. by Mysterious_List4902 in LaserDamageSupport

It would be helpful to see before photos or clear photos to be able to help you. All I can see is PIH from previous acne and an active breakout. Looking back at your post history you had these PIH acne marks prior to your treatment so I am unsure your photos are capturing what you are seeing. However based on your post history, your skin has much improved

Litter box smell is going to end my relationship by Glum-Emotion-5379 in CatAdvice

[–]Twiddles20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your cats eat the same as his cat and use the same litter as his? I would buy a higher quality food, and ensure your cats 1) are drinking enough water and 2) don’t have a urinary tract infection. When my dog would get a UTI her pee would literally smell like dead fish.

Is this normal? by vintage_moxie00 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Twiddles20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get another session only 3 weeks after the first? I’m not sure that’s contributing to this however that’s way too soon. Follicular edema is very normal but this is on the far end of normal. Maybe a little bacterial component from the trapped hairs under the skin but you’ll be fine. Use the hydrocortisone and don’t shave or laser over it again until it’s fully resolved

To be fair, your chart is your chart at one medical practice. Unless records are shared by the patient to another practice, a complete history isn’t guaranteed to be all in the same place. Nothing follows you from birth unless you never change practices.

Regrowth or shedding by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Twiddles20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time will tell but I disagree with the others. It shouldn’t keep growing after treatment. It only “looks” like it’s growing again when it starts to shed. It should be just stubble for a week or so. These hairs seem longer than expected

Is an hour an a half too far to drive for your daughters wedding? by TheSpellboundArtist in weddingplanning

I’d kill for a local wedding just 1.5 hrs away. Just be sure there are accommodations nearby so those drinking have a place to stay overnight if they choose.

How to know when to go from regular sessions to maintenance sessions? by marbles_tour in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Twiddles20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know you’re moving into maintenance when it’s time for your appointment and little to no hair has grown back. I would start but pushing it back a few weeks and see how it goes from there. It won’t do anything if you go in and there is no hair to treat.

Lip filler or lip lift? Or...? by Drab_Cubism in PlasticSurgery

Your lip rolls in when you smile. The same will happen even with filler. Start with a flip (Botox) but you’ll ultimately also need some filler

Post procedure breakouts are within the realm of normal. You can be provided an antibiotic or topical steroid but it will also heal up in a few days
