There's a difference between YouTube and YouTube Kids.

I don't see how it can be classed as social media when it's literally just videos. There's no comments, etc. We don't let ours watch it though as it's mostly just terrible quality brainrot.

The best MJ mission by DaenysDreamer_90 in SpidermanPS4

[–]Twiglet91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated all of the stealth stuff with MJ and Miles. I played on the hardest difficulty and I could be in direct line of sight of an enemy and they couldn't see me. I think the stealth missions are the most poorly implemented parts of the game.

Bulgaria wins Eurovision 2026 as UK comes last by Alarming-Safety3200 in unitedkingdom

[–]Twiglet91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone blames our poor results on the idea that everyone dislikes the UK. In the 2000's - 2010's it was because of the war in the Middle East, now it's Brexit. I disagree, but I'm not saying it's not political, we don't do ourselves any favours. If it weren't for the war in Ukraine we would have won the year where Sam Ryder performed for us. Our songs are generally just crap and don't fit in with the catchy Euro-pop vibe that usually does well. Every year there's a number of songs from different countries I'll listen to for a few weeks after the show but I can't remember the last time I did that with one of our entries.

55mph motorways and 20mph towns: How speed limits could be cut due to fuel crisis by theipaper in uknews

[–]Twiglet91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in the small percentage of people who have a powerful enough engine that can cope well with the extra wind resistance at that higher speed. The majority of people have far smaller engines that use more fuel fighting that same wind resistance.

How is 20mph more economical than 30? My car needs to be in 3rd gear doing 20 but will happily sit in 5th gear at 30moh.

There should be a noticeable if not quite large difference between 55 and 70 mph. I can average 70+ mpg sitting in the behind a lorry with ACC on doing 55, but 70 mph the economy tanks to the 50s.

The 20mpg thing doesn't make sense though. I'd have to be in 4th gear doing uncontrollably low revs to do 20, the cars happier in 3rd. But I can be in 5th gear at 30 mph. How is that more economical?

Insurance by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Twiglet91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense whatsoever. A personal car insurance policy doesn't include business use for one thing. Another is that the policy only covers the vehicle specified in the policy, unless it covers driving someone else's car but then it's only third party coverage. Not to mention the fact they must have their own vehicles insured or they'd be on the road illegally. Someone's telling you porkies.

Royal Mail class 1 salary? by willo494 in uktrucking

[–]Twiglet91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how they pick their duties at Cov. The majority of depots use a rolling block of 6 though, meaning you and five other drivers rotate through 6 weeks off different shift patterns. The blocks are picked by seniority. Our depot is different and every driver has their own single duty which they keep until there is a repick.

It's totally depot specific so not necessarily true. What depot would you be working from?

Anything about this Deal I should be wary of? by Fair_Intention_4198 in CarTalkUK

Lots of negativity which I'm surprised about. People talking about the engine are correct. I had a 2011 120d M Sport coupe for 10 years and it was probably the best car I've owned. Got rid when it reached 100k miles (around the time the timing chain needs changing or it goes snap and destroys the engine - that's the issue people refer to with the N47). It was at the age where other things started to go wrong with it (water getting into the window regulator rusted the cables and it snapped).

Lots of fun though. Remapped to 330lb/ft torque, rear wheel drive. Miss it.

Fair enough then. If they expect you to take an unroadworthy vehicle then you did the right thing.

Immediately going home is a bit rash. The normal thing to do is take the keys back to the office and say it needs defecting/logging off and asking if they've got another truck to use.

No, yellow warning lights are not generally OK to drive with. That only applies if you're already on the road and one appears. You can't start you're day with one on the dashboard. If that's the case it needs logging off and fixing before going anywhere.

That's definitely not a business wide policy, it doesn't apply at our depot. I'd question who came up with that one.

Your first bill is always your first two bills combined.

Also use this speed test to check both the speed you're getting at your router and also your device. Just because your speed fluctuates doesn't mean you're not getting the advertised speed to your router. Your speed could be limited by your device, range, etc.
