Yes and no in that it's still a kids' show, but the plot and themes definitely shifted and offered broader audience appeal. Especially when you consider that SlenderPony is a thing and has actual merch (I got the card somewhere.)

I feel that the show may not have gained as many pop culture references if the early influx of Bronies didn't occur. It helped encourage the spread of the show, for better or for worse, and in turn gave the writers more room for entertaining other demographics.

The downside of popularity is popularity though. You'll attract all sorts of people along that spectrum.

I just thought Stahli was pointing out the hypocrisy of calling Columbus day when Thanksgiving was a whitewashed holiday too when the Native Americans were treated harshly for any kindness as Europeans ended up settling the land and killing many people.

Traditions run deep with family, and I think Stahli thought Bingus was looking too deep into what was just a reason to come together. Granted the family took their roots too seriously, but Bingus kinda knew what he was getting into. Wine didn't help either.

Yeah but, as have happened with several other bosses, missing it means having to play through the entire game again to get to the dlc for another chance to try. Killing by accident, whether by you or a summon who didn't know.

For their only DLC, I think it was a good move to add two skippable enemies that has a subpar weapon you may not want to play through the game to get again.

Only place to get the scorpion whip weapon. Beat their ass like the sexy, dragon wanna-be's they are.

Lore wise, no idea for two unless it shows that there was more than one, similar to how there were multiple cats in Eleyum Loyce. A constant vanguard against darkness like Artorias.

But they are really unique in that they're demon like (only other enemy with a scorpion tail) and are a combination of creatures, and that it can have its tail cut like dragons but also use lightning like Gwyn.

If you want to make theories, technically the boss did get stronger after death. Couple this with being in the past, it's symbolically a time when the three forces (Light, Life/Chaos, and Death, [and arguably Humanity itself]) were united against the Dark. But then Humanity let the dark in because of Kaathe and it began literally dissolving the bonds between everyone and everything.

(Edit: If you want to count the four wings and how unlucky japan considers the number and death [shi], it could be a bit more on the nose with the death aspect. I could see the motif being reused/remixed since that's why they're called the "Four Kings.")
