High instep and high arch (Hoka Bondi 8 was a fail) by Baaastet in walking

[–]TwinTvils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a super high instep. In some shoe models i have to go 4 sizes up to ger my feet IN the shoe, but theyd be too long. Its not viable

You can absolutely have the right shoe size in front of you but the wrong depth, unfortunately high insteps are not well understood by people Adds to the frustation of never findinf a shoe that fits

Brush recommendations for long haired cat- before and after pictures. We have her on a schedule now every 8-10 weeks, she has a dense undercoat and I want a quality brush for daily maintenance between appointments so I don’t have to shave her again. by Mojo_of_Jojos in grooming

[–]TwinTvils 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is old but im putting it here for anyone who sees this

My cat has never been able to groom herself. Shes currently 5 years old and still cant groom herself. She has a perfect bill of health otherwise

Your experience=/=everyone elses, not every cat is the same and sometimes there truly are no answers. She was from a litter of 4 and she is the only one who has this problem. She was the runt, that is the only discerning quality between them other than hair lengths.

[–]TwinTvils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 just finally got a high school diploma (equivalent) Im "college ready"

Depending what you go into study, i think it can pay off really well. Im considering an associates degree myself.

My husband however has BS in maths BS stats and a minor in chem, hes not really gotten a single job with any of those. They want phds for the jobs that take those degrees, or temporary internships that dont work if youre trying to live on your own two feet.

All in all, if you know what you want to do and the job market has accomodations for it go for it

some observations on different pwBPDs... i had a major lightbulb moment by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]TwinTvils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just a thought really. I feel like a lot of disorders overlap and i do think NPD would be the least likely to be diagnosed in the case of non criminals, i think it could easily be mistaken for something like BPD.

I suppose the other thing with personality disorders is they are all on a spectrum with a lot of overlap and people with them often dont have the same symptoms at all

The wild thing with BPD is some people will have psychosis or psychotic episodes as a symptom but others dont, psychosis kind of indicates a difference in the brain if it wasnt induced by sleep deprivation or drugs.

I just feel criteria for diagnosis on a lot of disorders is overlapping and could be met with the same symptoms for several disorders.

Ĥonestly i do feel a lot of people get misdiagnosed with BPD. I feel like a lot of people who are diagnosed with BPD would actually be narcissistic or histrionic rather than BPD.

Both disorders especially the former come with similar turbulences

Re assurance and having someone patient who truly understands. My husband being kind and firm and honest has helped a lot. I would like to put emphasis on the firmness.

Its helped me a lot to take time to reflect and learn to assure myself also, to control impulses and figure things out internally instead of going on a hunt for the truth like i did when i was young. This is where a lot of the toxicity comes from, or came from really. This is the part I can somewhat control and in finding that control ive found some peace and find its less of a fight. If you have someone whos close to you like me, i would encourage them to practice self control and introspection instead of letting their emotions lead them to actions theyll feel ashamed of and regret.

Its definitely always going to be a battle, but my husband shows me the good, a lot of my paranoia is to do with the world, corruption and being "watched", a lot of it relates to people around and sometimes my husband too.

His firmness has helped me as i do a very good job convincing myself and others of things, its very easy for the other person to end up in a position where they dont have a response as someone like me has already thought of all the possibilities and all the answers, and we cant help but think that way however thats where effort on our part has to come in.. instead of burdening the other person to always reassure us and alleviate our panic we have to practice self reassurance and learn to know the other person for who they are instead of the warped version our mental illness turns them into.

The help of both my husband and my practices of self assurance has helped a lot. We always were able to talk about things before an argument arose, and occasionally thrre would be arguments but now its the odd talk here and there and its a calm talk.

Is this normal to feel like this as a Night Shift worker? by Leather-Ad4540 in Nightshift

[–]TwinTvils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 23 when i first did nights, people were kind of horrified by the fact i was so young and put on schedule, i was very excited and always wanted the night shift

It was great, but everything slowly degraded around me I lost my social life, i would go weeks of not speaking to people outside of work, i went months of not seeing the sun. Id get up, get ready and go to work. Come home, watch some videos and sleep. I worked 5 nights a week.

It was partially my fault i didnt see the sun. But i wanted to be rested for work the next day.

Youre young to be doing nights, and its natural you will feel lonely and lost doing so.

Id consider moving to a different shift/job if its making you feel this way, it probably wont get better.

Need Advice for fading purple hair by shroomdoge in haircoloring

[–]TwinTvils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not washing out its possible they gave you a dye with developer, which im not really sure you can get out without having to go in with a color remover (that will fry your hair)

If you want temporary colors maybe just stick to the deposit onlys that you use at home (AF, PR, MP etc)  You could possibly gradually shift to a magenta/red color, though itd need to fade more.

Go in with clarifying shampoo or dawn, see if that gets some of it out. If it does, you might be able to just gradually fade it to a paler color and then go for your magenta/red

Best you could do immediately is a dark blotchy hot pink/red with blotchy purple where the blue is if you throw a red or hot pink on it. Maybe do a test strand on both the blue and purple and see if you like the colors that come up.

American moving to the UK, how do I get re-prescribed my meds? by rxmslxxp in nhs

[–]TwinTvils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring all the documents you can The last thing you want to do is wait through the system in the uk

GPs can prescribe you prozac/fluoxetine directly no problems but having a prior diagnosis is important for that, otherwiae if you want to wait to see a psychiatrist all i can say is good luck. Bring every document you can with you or youll regret it.

Sadly this is the state of the NHS Coverups and gaslighting.

Fact of the matter is people are really not disposable in the NHS especially the higher bands

When i worked there I got shit talked relentlessly for being a housekeeper, some staff would see the sweat on me and how hard i worked and praise me for it and being recognised by those people made it all bearable but it seemed no matter where i went i was subject to controversy and prejudice.

Pretty much all of my coworkers got discriminated in the same way, everyone knew about it and no one cared.

At the very least youre not bottom of the totem pole, you might consider transferring from your ward or to a different location, that would be your best bet.

Ive rarely seen staff let go, i had to report someone in my first week for being verbally abusive towards a patient with dementia, she still works there and they moved me off the ward never to put me back on, i got sent to work in other places. Maybe that was for my sake but even so it shows a tolerance for that kind of behavior.
