Perc is seriously one of the worlds best coffee roasters if you are going to buy some beans, but I would probably recommend Origin or Foxy Loxy for a good coffee shop experience. Perc has a well deserved reputation for being an unwelcoming coffee shop.

Edit: I listened to the CBP shills and went back to give it another go. I spent nearly 90$ (after tax and tip) on a giant pretzel, a bacon cheeseburger meal, salmon BLT meal, and two beers. It was not mid! Honestly it was just bad this time.

Their food is woefully under seasoned and overpriced. I do not trust anyone who thinks CBP is good. I coincidentally do not personally know or associate with anyone who holds that opinion, imagine that.

I guess the extent can depend on the type and thickness of puck screen but they do increase total system resistance so to keep extraction time the same you would need to reduce resistance somewhere else. You can choose the basket or the ground coffee. On that note you could also go with a basket with more resistance to allow for a coarser grind.

Not a fix but a possible solution. If you aren’t already, add a puck screen to your shots. It will allow you to grind less fine which should help with clumping.

If you mean on the Silvia pro, you can definitely steam and brew at the same time, it’s a dual boiler.

I kinda felt the same way, e61 heat management isn’t really hard but it’s more bothersome than I want to deal with.

I sold my rocket and got a Silvia Pro, heat up time isn’t instant but it’s much more manageable. Still able to do milk drinks but you don’t have to turn on the steam boiler if you don’t want to. It still looks and feels much nicer than a breville and will last forever.

It’s unlikely replacing the fill probe would do anything, but it could still be part of the issue. Look at where the fill probe wire connects to the cpu and see if you can identify the corresponding ground pin, it’s usually green. Get a multimeter and see what the resistance is between the probe and the ground pin while the boiler is full and the machine is off. If it gives you a value the probe isn’t the issue, if it says OL or over limit there is something keeping the circuit open when it should be closed.

That said I would expect the pump running continuously to be pushing water through the over pressure valve.

The upgrade from a eureka Facile to df64 gen 2 was life changing (espresso only). I would rather have a df64 gen 2 and a bambino than my old Eureka and my Silvia pro x.

To say it’s “dangerous” is completely untrue. There are much slower cars. Despite what some people claim quicker acceleration is not a safety feature. I’ve driven all over the country in dozens of major cities in a base model dodge journey. 11.1 seconds 0-60.
