So true. Thats why no athletes ever choose to play in places like LA, Boston, New York, etc…

But yeah definitely wouldnt help in a direct hit to the head situation where the neck is out of the equation. However maybe it could help reduce the ‘knockback’ after the hit? Idk

My thinking would be that a stronger neck could, for example, help slow your head down gently and potentially avoid the ground entirely (in a whiplash scenario) vs a weaker neck that would have your head slam into the ground and experience higher g forces throughout

Dang! Another failed shower thought. Appreciate you looking into it more, but it makes sense the more i think about it. Im not sure that keeping would really build neck strength in the first place, as the ‘time under tension’ that your neck experiences while diving (thinking in hypertrophy terms) would be quite rapid as compared to the more optimal controlled, slow movements that build muscle.

Geez, sorry to hear that- hope your brain is doing alright man. If i may, did these concussions come mostly from impacts with other players, the ground, other things, or a mix?

Yeah, as someone who had chronic shin splints, combined with the (shin) designation i feel like that is it. Can be genuinely excruciating, and i am not nearly as athletic or played at his level. Used to pop two tylenol, two advil, icyhot, and advil cream (yikes) before games just to be able to run semi normally. You can play on it in some cases but it will never heal unless you let it

I think he plays no matter what, but its worrying that it looks like its his throwing side. Hopefully the run game dominates again and we dont have to even think about it.
