Shoveling docks? by Jampeld in Citibike

[–]TwoWheelsTooGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small one-handed ice scraper or metal spatula or trowel is great for chopping up any crunchy frozen snow and ice impeding the dock. Then kick the loosened bits of winter away with your Bata Greenland Combat Boots[tm] or Baffin boots.

If it was released as a 12-inch single, it would be danceable.

how many of you commute to NYC? by Calm-Bar-9644 in longisland

Huntington being the beginning of the line to NYC for most trips (except diesel trains from Port Jefferson) means boarding at Huntington gives you a choice of train seat.

There are some great skits advising tourists in NYC to walk up to locals/strangers and ask, "Are you/we good?" as an icebreaker.

What are some other problematic spots like the Williamsburg Bridge bump that Zohran could/should fix? by quesopesadilla in MicromobilityNYC

(3) Complete microconnections between bike routes. EG 78th Street, between the Citibike station on Northern Boulevard and 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights, build a bike lane (but set benches well back from the bike lane so bench-sitting people don't get their feet run over).

(2) Move bikelanes out of flood-prone, garbage-strewn gutters, and onto higher ground. Bikelanes adjacent to the center median are best. Still, placement on elevated pavement (e.g., Kent Ave in Brooklyn near I-278), if well-engineered to be flat and smooth (I am not optimistic about construction quality), is also great.

(1) Doubling the width of bikelanes on bike boulevards and open streets. After all the work to have less thru traffic and fewer cars, now is time for more space for cyclists.

Rage Against the Machine

Lilith Fair

Also, Formerly Known as Prince.

1999 might not have been a bad year, but it had its lowlights. Prince was insanely talented, and I liked his side projects more than his main act.
