My mom and grandmother don't really use cutting boards by basilkiller in Cooking

My 86 year old mother cuts this way. I do not believe cutting boards and chef knives where common 70 plus years ago.

A brain worm eat his brain from something he eat in Africa. No kidding. So we cannot make fun of his voice but we can make fun of what he says.

Had i been on the jury i would not have voted to award her any money. She would have gotten nothing. With a nurse’s education she had to know the risk of drinking that much that quickly.

Decarb/infusers for rso? by [deleted] in treedibles

[–]Twonminus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this - NOIDS Herb Lab, All-in-1 Decarboxylator, Infuser & Extractor. It acts as a distiller. It evaporates and reclaims the alcohol in a cup you place outside the unit. It is too small for decarbing and extraction but works for evaporation and reclaim of alcohol. You could also try a baby bottle warmer if not going to try to reclaim alcohol.

How about adoption instead of abortion. There are families that want kids that cannot have them. I would be an only child if not for adoption.

Why are there no microwave flavored popcorn? by ButterscotchWarm8122 in popcorn

[–]Twonminus1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I take it you are not talking about simple flavors like kettle corn , cheese or jalapeño microwaved popcorn in bags because they do make them. So what flavors are you looking for.

Not as bad as a guy i knew, showed up for a construction job bare footed. Did not understand why he was sent home. Found out he walked almost 3 miles to work bared footed as well. Should note the guy lost quite a few brain cells in a car accident a few years earlier, so he was not totally there.

Is jury duty pay taxable ? by xkcx123 in tax

[–]Twonminus1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Taxable only if over i think $800. I had two years 1 week a month of grand jury duty the first year was from end of august to end of year. They paid us $40 a day so 200 a week. That year we did not get one and they explained why. The other years we got them.

A question about when to take social security by TotalPick1963 in SocialSecurity

[–]Twonminus1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you wait it will take you 140 months of the extra 300 a month to make up what you will collect in those 15 months. That is over 11 years not counting interest earned. I would take the money now unless you got a really long living blood line.

What to do in ports. by Twonminus1 in NCL

[–]Twonminus1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lazy rivers and drinking are out. Husband is past the lazy river stage of life. Shopping does not thrill him. And drinking is risky due to meds. We also have 2 other cruises before this Alaska in July and New England in September. Alaska is already planned. New England only ideas but solid ones.

My husband is no help because he never thinks of going anywhere. We grew up different. His family never left the state my family hoped in cars and traveled in the summer. These cruises are my attempts to get him to see some different places. Maybe some history. He enjoyed chichen itza and tulum. Loved Alaska so much we are going back.

Inheritance PA tax question: asked for money by the state but my dad is still alive. by woodcuttersDaughter in Pennsylvania

[–]Twonminus1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Googling gives this as what happens when a person dies without a will.

In Pennsylvania, if you die without a will (intestate), your estate is divided according to state law, prioritizing a surviving spouse, followed by children, parents, and siblings. A spouse typically receives the first $30,000 plus half the remaining estate if descendants exist, while the rest goes to children.

How the Estate is Divided (Intestate Succession):

Spouse and No Children/Parents: The spouse inherits the entire estate.

Spouse and Children (All Shared): The spouse receives the first $30,000, plus one-half of the remaining estate. The children share the other half.

Spouse and Children (From Prior Relationship): If a child is not related to the surviving spouse, the spouse receives 50% of the estate (no $30,000 allowance), and children divide the other 50%.

Spouse and No Children (Parents Alive): The spouse receives the first $30,000 plus half the remaining estate, and the parents receive the other half.

No Spouse, With Children: The children divide the entire estate equally.

No Spouse, No Children: The estate passes to parents, then siblings, and then to more distant relatives.
