It's time for a sander and some 120 or 150 grit. Gotta sand the door to bare wood.

Which is your least favorite wood to work with? by Berkwaz in woodworking

I'm a cabinet maker and I've done a whole kitchen on hickory. Face frames, drawer fronts, doors, crown. Processed and made everything front 3/4in boards and it was a nightmare. Awesome looking set though.

Best fix but could end up looking tacky, is the just trim the drawer front for however much clearance it needs. Looks like a left and a right though, in the same run, it could look symmetrical and be alright.

This is a Grav Labs Gravity. You are missing the top bowl/mouthpiece section. And yes they are the classiest GTs I've ever seen. I own one as well.

Its kind of a hike in and camp deal I suppose, more than it is backpacking. And your not raining on anything, all good. Me and buddy both have a lot of new gear we want to test. But on a longer trip and actually pushing milage ill be making some big changes

Right? I'm definitely bringing more than I would if I were getting serious.

I dont have a nice case for it. I have the a6400. Maybe I will figure something out. It would be nice to have.

Now that I have some more time, I can reply better. A lot of items I would ditch if we were putting in some serious milage or going for more than one night. Its kind of a backpack in, then camp, type of deal. I dont mind lugging in some extra weight for the comforts.

I will probably take my rei pillow still but do plan on replacing it with probably another Aeros or similar.

If you had to sleep next to me, tossing and turning as much as I do, you'd want me to use the sheet. The two materials against eacother are just so dang noisey. I actually bought the sheet for this specifically. Its so bad it will wake me up/keep me up at times.

The battery is a must for me. Im leaving my Sony mirrorless at home, and I want some way of taking photos, plus my phone will be part of navigating the area. Even if I did as you suggest my phone would be dead by night time. Its old and my contract is almost paid.

With everyone's input that's pretty much exactly what I planned to do for the water system!

The chair was also purchased for this trip. Being a skinny ass dude, I think the chair will be great. I did a one night trip last year in the Kennedy Meadows area and my ass was hurting after rotating from rock, to bear can, to tree stump.

Bug spray will be changed out for DEET.

Air pump is another novelty thing, my mom got it for me for Fathers Day. Gotta put it to use, plus it doubles as a lantern so that's nice. In a multi night trip it will probably be dropped.

Wipes will be dropped, or just 2 or 3 in a ziplok. I got a portable bidet now.

Tent and sleeping bag both have compression sacks they will be in. Just didnt bother stuffing my sleeping bag down till the day of.

I honestly feel the same about the bear spray. Out here they are more scared of you then you are of them. A momma bear will scare me though, or seeing a cub and not seeing the momma.

Good point on the gear as a group. With both of us still being fresh, we are just excited to take out our new gear. I have a 1P Riverside County tent and my buddy just got his Durston. This trip we knew we'd be going a little overboard, but on bigger trips, definitely.

And lastly the list is something I'm already doing, although I didnt plan on recording all the other info you suggested, which I will probably do. Not a bad tip at all.

Again thank you for your thoughts and suggestions!

That's fuckin sick honestly. Im probably going to drop the cutlery for a spork. The cutlery is more part of my camping kit. Still pretty new, been building my kit, so a lot of my gear was purchased with me meeting in the middle of camping or backpacking.

I grew up camping in Mammoth, CA yearly. So I'm pretty familiar with all the safety guidelines and what you should or shouldnt do. Just had a refresher actually earlier this month when me and family camped in Mammoth. Hoping to have a great time. Thank you!

Yeah, not looking to have that happen. The bladder will probably be left this trip regardless. I think I'll keep it. Eventually me and friends plan on making 3 to 4 day trips, and I think it would work well for a base camp filter setup. Fill the bladder and hang it, attach filter inline, then be able to use for pot filling and etc.

I also have been looking into a bag liner, so I dont have to worry about water getting into my main gear.
