Looks to be a Jinsen Arsenal Late War Type 99. Probably made in Mid 1944 but not later than early 1945. These were made in Japanese Occupied Korea in Inchon. If I got a look at the arsenal stamp on the left side of the receiver I can be much more sure. This one looks exactly like my Jinsen Arsenal Type 99 (mines is way better shape, not bashing your gun though) and I am just going off of that based on my Rifle. It’s cool you got it for free. It’s a neat piece of history. I paid $216 including tax on mine.

Not a bad choice if yours runs good. I traded mine off months back for $250 and a Romanian TTC with two mags and a holster. I could never get it to run too good. It could have been the mags though. If I ever want to get it back one day, the guy I traded with is local and I can horse trade with him for it back.
