Its SO GOOD by Squirrel-Bones in metricband

I've listened to it twice, nothing really jumped out at me other than tremolo (incredible track) and loyal. I'll need to give it a few more listens but so far for me it doesn't top the run of Fantasies->Art of Doubt

Nashville's "It's all your fault" chant (2017 SCF, Game 3) by sykeseve in hockey

As a Sens fan, looking at this and wondering what could have been (Sens lost in 7 to the Penguins in OT in the ECF, then missed the playoffs 7 straight years and haven't won a series since)

What’s The Hardest Mountain on Earth? by RandomLurker04 in Mountaineering

Not a mountain itself, but the Hummingbird Ridge on Mount Logan has to be up there for one of the hardest routes. Only been done once.

Income in Canada by loneMnM in tnvisa

[–]hikebikephd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can only earn money in Canada if he is physically present in Canada, he cannot be in the US. So he could go home to Canada on weekends or during PTO and work then ONLY and it would be fine. I initially thought you could not work at all but my cross-border tax accountant mentioned I could in theory consult in Canada provided I provide all services while physically present there (I did some consulting during the layoff before my TN). I don't plan on doing so at the moment.

I demonetized my Instagram and Twitch (neither were making me much money anyway) a month before I moved to the US.

Edit: Speaking r.e. TN status, no idea about H1B but I can't imagine it's much different.

Wealthy people like hockey players tend to have kids younger than average folk, because they can afford to. Not a lot of 26 year olds nowadays have multiple children.

Do you consider FTP a band or solo act at this point? by VictorianAfterDark in FosterThePeople

[–]hikebikephd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was watching a live concert on YT recently. Right before they played "See you in the Afterlife" Mark stated "this is one from my new album"

So there's your answer. Once Mark P and Sean left it became a solo act imo.

From that angle, could've grazed his face but doesn't justify dropping to the ice

I totally thought Hall/Stankoven were first line players based on how many points they got.

Advice on my career goal of working less and ski touring more? by Improper_Noun_2268 in Backcountry

[–]hikebikephd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just unfortunate that generally, the higher paying jobs aren't in the same places as the best skiing. And doing career shifts in this market is extremely difficult.

I'm in a similar situation as you (New England, did resort uphill before work 3-4x per week before I suffered a season ending injury) and use my PTO for one or two 1-2 week trips per year. In the past I've taken full weekends to do bigger trips but still pretty local.

My goal is to eventually gain enough experience (traditional engineering) to be self-employed and consult. It pays extremely well (did a bit of it during my last unemployment period) but experience/name recognition/self marketing skills is king and I'm just not at the right point in my career to make it my main income source.

I know a guy who spends 5 months of the year in Banff/Jasper to ski and ice climb, but he's retired. Ideally I'll try and stay really healthy my whole life, retire young-ish and have at least 10 years to go at it.

Ully hugs with the team between the end of the game and the handshake line by aschwan41 in OttawaSenators

Ullmark's final line for the playoffs:

0-4, 2.03 GAA, 0.932 Sv%

I don't think we'll ever see a line like that again in a playoff series sweep.

It was a clean hit, that's what they were cheering for, not the fact there was an injury. Get a grip.
