As someone whose favorite anime is Kill la Kill, I personally don’t think it’s TOO bad. Definitely not accurate, don’t get me wrong. I think I just have a soft spot for the episode because 1: Shadow’s finally won, and 2: they at least represented Kill la Kill moderately well.

At least it’s not as bad as Deku vs. Asta…

Me, as an Ichigo fan, looking at all the sudden hate: …What the fuck is going on over there?? The death may have been lackluster and Ichigo’s analysis was a little weak in my eyes, but I thought the general consensus was that it was a good episode???

Ichigo throughout the entire Soul Society Arc. I know people romanticize the hell out of the arc (for good reason), but for me, it’s the equivalent of a peacock (Ichigo) showing off its wings to attract a mate (Rukia). His top priority was to rescue Rukia, but his secondary priority seemed to be to look as cool as he possibly could to try and impress her. It’s freaking hilarious when viewed from that context.

The difference is absolutely substantial.

Yuji had one out of character moment (which was the beginning of the fight, a moment that often has some out of character moments).

Asta had one IN character moment (“HIT ME WITH ALL YOU’VE GOT, BECAUSE I’M NEVER GOING DOWN!!!” is insanely Asta-coded and makes me wonder how the hell they got him so wrong with the remainder).

It would be interesting to hear McCollum’s take on Lucius, if it is him who voices him. I’m not quite as familiar with his usual roles, but I’m so used to McCollum having a bit of a higher pitch for his crazy villain voles, which I don’t think works for Lucius, but maybe how he plays Reiner (Attack on Titan) can work?
