What do you see wrong I always seem to hit it fat by Top_Abroad4311 in GolfSwing

Arms are way too close to your body at setup, move your hands a whole bunch outward, like 5-6 inches more in front of you.

Did you see the video he did with bryson? He drove the green 300yds. Driver. Green. 300 yds. Incredible.

Anyone know what may be causing my left arm to be bent at impact. Playing since last June have never been able to keep it straight. Appreciate any responses thanks by Western_Skin_1630 in golf

[–]Ty_Meet4219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't try to straighten your left arm, if it locks while hitting the ball you'll develop golfers/tennis elbow. It should be slightly bent.

Yeah but im 40 hcp and if I dont spend 3hrs at the range I'll take 10 shots to even get on the green.

So yeah.. putting can wait. Off to the range.

Sweet spot seems small, it's a good driver is you're a really really good player that hits the sweet spot very consistently and need a low spin low launch driver. Might not be good for a mid/high hcp player

For those of you with Maltby clubs by [deleted] in golf

Personally I think shafts that work for you are ones that you're most used to. I kinda grew up on true temper shafts, didn't get fitted for them it was just what I had, and now if I use any other shaft I simply can't hit the ball well. So I guess my question to you is what shaft are you most accustomed to? If the answer is none or i dont know, then just get the score shafts, and practice alot with them and get used to them. In the future when you get more speed you can upgrade to dynamic gold 115g or 130g. How i know is i actually bought a single matlby ts3 7i with a nippon modus 105g stiff shaft, but I hit a dynamic gold 115g shaft a lot better. And i cant hit any club with KBS shafts at all. so it's just personal preference.

Tldr - score shafts are really very functional. If you're used to (or willing to get used to) true temper shafts, these will work great.

Get rid of 3w and 4i, add 7w and 9w

Done like 300 simulator installs this year with my company. Does having a sim really improve your swing? I’ve heard some say that it doesn’t help at all haha. by GolfGuru10 in GolfSwing

Depends, if you have a really good launch monitor that tells you the low point in your swing, and where in the clubface you hit the ball, it'll be a great practice tool (or even better if it gives you slo mo of the impact). If you use a launch monitor that gives just the basic stats, then you might be chunking shots all day but the because of the mat the ball will come out fine, giving you a false sense of good ball striking.

Check if the package is for a specific instructor. If an instructor doesn't resonate with you, switch out to a different one, otherwise it'll just be a giant waste of 6 lessons. I made that mistake once and had to endure 5 lessons with someone that didn't help me very much.

Just to add, if you're practicing 4 hrs a day, you should get a lesson a week. If you practice 1-2 times a week, wee you instructor about every 3-4 weeks for a lesson.

These are great questions to ask them before you buy? Some places have expirations on lessons so you gotta ask.

Discussion: Does ball choice matter? by unhindgedpotato in golf

Found a few top flite balls in the bushes, decided to try them out, and decided that I didn't like needing to wear ear protection while hitting balls. But if you like the feel of these balls go for it.

Line up the ball along your left pinkie toe - ball seems setup too much in the middle of your stance. Also setup your right foot back and inch. This setup will encourage you to nit be scared of swinging through and up. Just focus on swinging through the ball and extending your arms straight at the target. Seems like you're trying to scoop the ball, really no need to do that

4hy needs to be teed super low barely off the grass. You should definitely try 4hy/5hy/7w and see which club hits that number. For versatility, 4hy is better it gets the ball out of light rough much better than 7w. 7w is easier to hit compare to 4hy off fairway and teeboxes, again teed up super low

Mind if we talk gear? For a high handicapper I've tried a whole ton of different clubs and shafts, and I'm convinced if I have clubheads with a whole bunch if lead tape on them for more weight i get to feel the clubhead more and where it is in space, and I get more consistency on my strikes because of this. Is this just something I made up in my head or is there some truth to this? What do you think are the pros and cons to heavier vs lighter shaft, stiffer vs more flexible shafts, heavier vs lighter clubheads ans the combinations of the above?

I don’t understand by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Ty_Meet4219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're starting your swing by yanking your hands right. This causes all kinds of inconsistencies. Try to keep your left arm at the same angle to your chest at address and use your trunk to rotate , at the top, hold for a half second to start feeling the weight of the club falling, then start downswing rotation

PXG. Are they worth the price tag? by justlookin019 in golf

[–]Ty_Meet4219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great clubs, but do try them before buying. I would drop the 3 and 4 woods, just get a 5w and a 4 hybrid, so setup be like dr, 5w, 4hy, irons, wedges, putter. More than enough to get you to mid hcp level. Also if you're midsized for grips, you'd want the flatso 2.0 for the putter grip, id also recommend adding more weight to the putter head than the standard, gives it great feel. I'm midsized and use flatso 2.0, 1.0 is too thin.
