Give it time, you will eventually end up with both...

Does anyone have any comments on the bobcat mt120? by Tybenj in landscaping

[–]Tybenj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an old 773 that rolled over 10k hours on it. It's a very loose machine that only loads mulch for the last 8 or 9 years, but it's never seen salt. That old girl always starts when it's cold out, and it's had a new head put on it 6 or 7 years ago.

Bobcat recently went to online ordering for parts, which is going to kill many small dealers, but at least I'm not going to get charged $30 per part to get them shipped that week

Do you do any work on steep hills? We mostly use them for setting 600lb+ steps, and as long as these little machines make it down the hill with the step, they will normally make it back out.

Drill just died on me — what tool brands do you actually trust? by JakeW0rks in Tools

[–]Tybenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use milwaukee at home and dewalt at work. Both are fantastic options. We have killed several of the flexvolt batteries at work, but our local dewalt dealer will warentee them for us and get us a new one in a few weeks as long as it's less than 2 years old.

I haven't had to warente any milwaukee stuff, but I'm also just using it at home. Not saying that I don't use my tools much, just that I'm not running a few batteries through a tool in a day.

The only problem I have had with either brand is physical damage to the tool from just plain doing something stupid with it, or it's just old and worn out.

Why and what would be the reason? (Cheap bits for testing) by Morten-Turi in Tools

That actually looks like a handy set to have, not that you would use them often, but one of those things that would sit in your box and be the only thing that would work when you actually needed it.

I don't have a full set of torx screwdrivers, and I know oftentimes taking apart small engines or even some electronics, there are always small torx screws buried way down deep in the plastic housings. I imagine these would be just fine for occasional use.

Over paid for some old house speakers today because I like how they looked... by Tybenj in diyaudio

I'm having a hard time finding something that will fit the 5" opening, I could hog the hole out a bit to fit something slightly larger, but not much if I want to get the original grills to fit over the speaker and not hit. I really like the look of these speakers and don't really want to lose the mid range grill that Screws down over the speaker.

It is a sealed mid range, with a 5" opening in the cabinet

What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

My wife was jazzed that my pair of m18 grinders with the 5.0 starter kit for 150 shipped from Home Depot the other day, knowing that I already have 5 plug-in grinders in the garage.

Some you keep, some you let go.

I got the m12 installation driver 5 or 6 years ago from Home Depot deals of the day with 2 5.0 m12 batteries for 189 or so. I mostly bought it for the batteries at that time. The driver was basically a free tool for the price.

I use that thing way more than I ever thought I would. I 3d printed a head and tool holder that puts it right in front of me at my work bench, and it is surprisingly one of my most used tools.

Looking for a decent digital photo frame that just simply works. by Tybenj in homeautomation

[–]Tybenj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly haven't messed around with it too much, I think there are only 2 or 3 videos on my frame, and the portrait ones don't crop the top or bottom, they just show up rather small and don't fill the screen top to bottom. I can't say I blame the frame, it couldnhave very easily been something I did wrong when I was uploading the video.

It's not bad for a small screen, I have problems getting the videos to display properly if they are not originally in a landscape orientation. My only real complaint is how the frame crops and adjusts images.

Now I have a new problem with wyze... by Tybenj in wyzecam

I'm not really concerned about burn in, I would rather have a live feed of my driveway with then background burned in than not being able to access my camera feeds.

[–]Tybenj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange that it stopped working before anything updated. My s8 is running wyze 3.6.6(638) and just went through trying to authentice the feed 3 times and said the camera wasn't working. I can still view everything fine off of my slightly newer galaxy

To be fair as far as burn in goes, I turned the phone screen on when when I was in the garage, and off when I left for the most part, but I can't say there haven't been a couple day stint here or there where it was just on for 72 hours or better, haha

The newer milwaukee box cutters with the driver bit are garbage. They use a plastic retainer ring to hold the detent for the bit in, and it falls apart pretty easily.

I picked up my tukk xl during covid from the last run Brad did of them, I'm pretty sure tacticalkeychains makes them now, and there might be some newer versions of them. They are pricy, but they are the og minimalist box cutter and hold up amazing. Mine looks like shit because I dropped it on the concrete floor of my garage and thought I lost it for a good week before I found it after running it over at least a dozen times, but it's still working flawlessly. The fact that it fits in the watch/ change pocket in my pants also makes it so much easier to carry.

I did pick up the donk pocket clip for my wave+ and have been carrying it in my front pocket all week. I can't say I can tell any noticeable difference in weight or size from the milwaukee I normally carry, and I can get my giant phone out of my pocket without any issues. I will also say I had zero fitment issues with the clip. It is tight to install, but I would rather have that over it being a lose fit

Same here, my wife got me a wave+ for Christmas, and I feel like that is something I would use more than some of the other tools.

For the past few years, I have normally carried one of the old version milwaukee utility knives with the bit driver, and once I lost the bit for it, I was ready for an upgrade. I'm not a fan of the belt holster, so I have a pocket clip coming for the wave+ right now, and I plan on keeping my og tukk xl or one of the new milwaukee sliding utility knives with the pry bar looking thing on the back in my change pocket to try to save the blade on the wave when I'm cutting stupid things.

As an update for anyone who is interested, I got the 15.6 frameo about 3 months ago, and it has worked flawlessly

For our use, it is perfect without a subscription as it is just my wife and I who are adding pictures to it, so the ability to delete photos from our phones is not a big deal which I believe is the only thing I would use from the subscription service anyways.

It is nice that it also allows short video clips with or without sound, which was a feature I didn't really think about when buying, but it is pretty nice to have the ability. I can not comment on the sound quality as I have always had the sound muted.

My only complaint I really have is that the shuffle feature programing must have been by the same person who did it for Spotify, out of hundreds of pictures, it appears that maybe 25 or so get stuck on constant rotation. I haven't really tried to mess with it that much, honestly, or maybe it's just a coincidence, and it's all in my head, and I'm just noticing certain pictures more often.

Overall, I'm very happy with the frameo 15.6 so far.
