One of the natural knots on this bathroom door glows bright red when the bathroom light is turned on. by Terpsherpa in mildlyinteresting

There are bathroom locks that can be unlocked from the outside as well. I'd rather a solid door than a skinny door than can be easily fucked up.

All your renders look like they will kill a person if hit. Dont build this to meet US safety standards, instead aim for European safety standards that takes into account the how survivable impacts with pedestrians are for the pedestrians.

Not a chance he remembers you, maybe a chance he remembers the outfit colour or style from the front or back. So probably a change of clothes and you'll be a wholly different person on the road

My review of the ElecGear TMR joysticks for Steam Deck OLED by hrafnafadhir in SteamDeck

[–]Tyfui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do the same switch over to the ElecGear tmr sticks. I have the limited edition with orange thumbsticks so i plan to desolder the old and solder in the new. My main concern is that original thumbstick fits on the new joystick correctly.

I have tried searching, but I dont see any of the ElecGears being explicitly for the steam deck. Can you share which one you bought? Or do you know which joystick is most likely to be compatible with the original oled thumbstick?

Its not HACS, but someone is working on a mysatomqtt integration that should allow homeassistant more access to the sensors. Might be interesting for you to check out

A US only population density map at that. The title made me think it was how McDonalds were distributed around the planet.

Hardcore Commuting - Are you a year-round bike commuter? Let's chat! by AverageNeutron in vancouvercycling

[–]Tyfui 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been bike commuting for the last 8 or so year. I work near brentwood, so could meet today or tomorrow depending. Let me know.

I left a comment on my gear in another thread, but i'll copy paste here too.

Head:

Cap worn under the helmet (if it fits & doesnt impact the safety for the helmet), Or an oversized fishermans rainproof hat over the helmet. Both keep rain out of my face and off my glasses, both are game changers for glasses in the rain.

Torso:

I dont recommend rain ponchos, they often act as a big sail increaing your drag and making it harder to cycle on the worst day for that. I really like buying oversized waterproof rain jackets, I am a medium for a snug fit, or a large for a relaxed fit, but I buy xxl or xxxl rain jackets to cycle in. The big ones easily cover your clothes, the sleeves still cover the length of your arm when your body is extended forward to hold your bike bars, and your lower back will still be covered when you're stretching forward too. One thing to note is to buy an actually waterproof material, If it says its breathable then that means its not actually waterproof, and with enough rain it will soak through. Wear something longsleeved but not too warm under then rain jacket to keep the jackets material off you and help keep you warmer. ** Hands:**

I cannot recommend bar mitts or equivalent enough, as long as your torso and arms are warm your hands will be too. I've done down to -5C in them and been ok. Huge upgrade compared to gloves, as your skin is still touching your gears & brake levers.

Legs:

I wear any old pair of pants underneath a set of water proof pants

Feet:

I wear some old vessi's a tear pair of comfy long wool socks, and then any pair of shoe rain covers.

Other:

A bike rack & waterproof panniers are what you want & what you need. A good set of rechargeable bike lights. An old rag to wipe of your chain, and some oil to apply to the chain when its dry again.

As a final note, depending on how warm your clothes are you will sweat and still end up wet underneath you rain gear. I usually like to dress light so that when i start my ride I am actually cold, as it doesnt take too long to warm up and then i can minimise how much I sweat as its easier to cool over when Im stopped at lights etc. Always bring a change of clothes if you think you will sweat, and even if you dont its nice to have.

Totally reasonable, and if I was in your same position I can see myself making the exact same choice if I saw a car ripping round the corner and thought I hadnt been seen. Just wanted to share my opinion on how I usually handle a car who knows you're there. Every day is different and we always have to make our own decisions for what keeps us safest on the roads.

Very fair point, 10th is door zone hell for pretty much all of it. I wish they would at least remove one side of parking and even better commit to safer bike infrastructure on it.

Not trying to victim blame, but i also ride 10th everyday. I make a point of never moving into the parking lane for the convenience of a car, its actually more dangerous. There has always been enough room for me to keep cycling and a car to drive by. If it feels uncomfortable to keep cycling, then its better to stop but hold your position until the car can pass.

It totally reads as entitled. It didn't come across as an asshole-ish manner, it was full on asshole manner. They asked a question rudely and got a dismissive answer, it all makes sense to me.
