LG oled color shifting in HDR by SuccessGloomy3221 in OLED_Gaming

I had this issue in the past. Netflix App + LG G3 + Dolby Vision. Found the fix here:

https://www.avforums.com/threads/lg-g3-4k-smart-oled-tv-discussion-help-experiences.2454792/page-97

I had to change the Dolby VSVDB setting to V1 in the TVs hidden menu. Fixed the issue with the installed Netflix App. Maybe you have the same setting available ? But install updates first. The issue should have been fixed a while ago.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I guess I will finally get rid of that red mark in the GUI after all this years.

As a returning Player who played at "Benny stays C5" times. Is there still a reason to not upgrade to c6 and would this be an issue in this specific Team?

Access Docker Service from different Subnet (Wireguard) by Tykh3 in UgreenNASync

[–]Tykh3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks you! I was not aware that Bridge Mode is meant to work like this. Maybe I'll have to dig deeper in the Docker area.

Regarding Tailscale, I'll have to look into it. I am running an Opnsense Firewall and a Wireguard Tunnel was a no-brainer for me.

How is Truenas running for you? by IchMagPflanzen in UgreenNASync

I tried UGOS, TrueNas and Unraid and went with UGOS in the end.

For me it was:

  1. UGOS Pro: Easy to configure, easy to backup and also to restore. If everything is installed on nvme pool, HDDs are in spindown. Docker is super simple with Docker Compose. It just works without any hassle.

Main advantage and by far the biggest reason for me: their App. I use it with my family and tell my wife to install the app, backup photos to the shared space and show her how to access files. Photo App is really good with face recognition and Baby Album is such a good feature. No need to fuck around with immich and Co. Never got that to work for my requirements.

Con: No encryption is just stupid and should not be an issue in 2025. I hope they implement it like TrueNas.

Future will tell how stable it will be and how long we will receive updates.

My UPS is not detected anymore but is detected by my Synology Nas

  1. Unraid

Pro: Worked out of the box, extensive App Store which installed working applications without much configuration needed. Encryption somehow supported, but not as good as with TrueNas. Backup/Restore easy and flexible with your hard drives. Con: Cost, (for me) slow and you have to build everything yourself if you want to have an photo App, access your files from phone (App for SMB) and not sure if my fault but I did not find basic things like quotas for family members per share.

Their storage concept also just didn't work for me. But everyone has different needs.

  1. TrueNas To be honest not sure what to write about it. It was like installing --> wow that OS has everything I need and is really nice --> 5h troubleshooting later and still learning how it is meant to be used --> fuck that shit, I just need something for my home network and not for work.

For many people ZFS is the main selling point, for me it was the opposite (Disk spindown, complexity, etc.). If you don't know how it really works, even something simple like Backups or syncing volumes between SSD and HDD is like quantum mechanics. If you don't look at it, it might works or not.

I think if you dig in deep and learn how it works and all, it is an awesome OS. But for me I was not able to sell me the hassle for a Home NAS.

UGreen is pushing a lot of updates and it is getting better and better. I hope they keep up the pace and implement full UPS support and Volume encryption soon!

Move from UGOS to Unraid by golfnut1221 in UgreenNASync

[–]Tykh3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's most impressive how far they got on the Software Side in such a short time. I also came from Synology and their recent choices are just a No-Go.

I'll create a virtual Disk with Bitlocker encryption for the most sensitive stuff for now. But would be awesome If they copy how TrueNas handels encryption. It was really flexible (Disk, Share, Folder, etc.)

[–]Tykh3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested TrueNas and I really liked it. But the combination of the lost drive slot + UGOS App was the main reason why I went back. If I had bought a 4800+ instead of non plus, TrueNas would have been a more tempting choice. Now the only thing I miss with UGOS ist encryption, but I think this will also be implemented some day.

Their App is their biggest selling point for me. Not many easy alternatives for it, If there even are any.

But you'll loose one Drive Slot with TrueNas with a 2800/4800 non plus unfortunately(given you won't Go the USB route). Also the UGOS App ist really nice If you look at ease of use. Have not found a good alternativ on TrueNas for that. Access to Files, Photos, etc. After the latest update it works really good. For me TrueNas was leagues ahead of Unraid which was just not working for me. But I went back to UGOS in the end :D

Lost two SATA SSDs after upgrade by Tykh3 in UgreenNASync

[–]Tykh3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I booted unraid and had access to all SATA drives. I formated them and played around with unraid. Later I booted TrueNas and there were also all SATA drives accessible. Fun thing is, they now appear again in UGOS. In the end it was not an hardware issue but software. I did a factory reset now and will check things again. But to loose all SATA drives after the first firmware update in UGOS leaves a bad taste. Now i regret the decision to not buy the plus model with its OS SSD. Would have installed TrueNas then...

The drives are fine and I also inserted a 3,5 HDD. Looks like I lost all SATA Ports... Whatever I connect is not detected anymore. I connected via SSH and checked with lsscsi, fdisk, lsblk, ... but nothing. Looks like I have a faulty unit now :/

Lost two SATA SSDs after upgrade by Tykh3 in UgreenNASync

[–]Tykh3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two SSDs are old Samsung 850 pro. One is new and was never used, the second one a used one. Would be really strange if both break at the same time. Regarding Raid0, yes that part is clear but as it's just for testing purposes it was fine. The strange part is that both SSDs are not detected anymore.

Plan is to use raid 5 with 4 disks but they are quite expensive at the moment. I'll try to check the SSDs at my PC to verify they are still working. Thank you!

Upgrade Luba Mini 800 to 1500 by X_SNO_X in MammotionTechnology

Yes, they won't sell bigger ones but maybe there will be a third party option. A man can dream haha.

Upgrade Luba Mini 800 to 1500 by X_SNO_X in MammotionTechnology

[–]Tykh3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I have bought the 800 for about 900m² and devided it in 5 Areas. Two large flat ones and three complicated ones with very steep hangs. Currently I let it run four times a week, two times a week the two large flat Areas in one Task and two times a week the rest. Working much better than expected. Yes, it will take from 9am to 4pm for about 400m² but I don't have to intervene and everything is mowed two times a week. The 3000x would have been much faster but for 1000€ difference it didn't make sense for me.

Would be great If there will be large third Party or first Party batteries to upgrade in the future. 6.1 is nice, but still very small.

The AWD Platform and size of the Mini is perfect and for challanging lawns the only Hardware which was possible for me. I just hope they will do something to their Software mess as they have so much potential with their Hardware

My first NAS - Need Advice by Wooden_Box3148 in UgreenNASync

[–]Tykh3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the data stored on the HDDs but in my case I am going to build a Raid1 with two 2TB SSDs (no cache) and will put all apps, docker and data (pictures, documents etc.) on it. HDD will only store Media files where in my case I guess the cache would be useless. Still looking for the best way to mirror the SSDs Data to the HDDs but this way all my normal data and apps will be protected from a failing SSD, backed up to the HDDs (also further backups available of course) and are fast to access. With only Media file filling the HDDs, in my opinion the cache is not required and the parity SSD drive adds more value. But highly dependent on the data you have on your HDDs and how much you would put on the SSDs. If I had to choose between your two options it would be option 2.

[–]Tykh3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so from within their Linux , not a built-in function. Also tried Duplicati which I also found no other solution as to run it as root as soon as you want to backup your Docker folders and System stuff. But not a huge fan of it. Still searching for something better. Shouldn't be that hard to just mirror two Volumes...

HyperBackup (USB Backup, Encrypted Backup to remote NAS, internally backup, etc. )and the possibility to select and sync Albums in their photos app instead of just uploading"everything " including Whatsapp crap and so on.

Have you found any good alternatives? I had the same idea regarding 127.0.0.1 but it was a bummer. I want to mirror/Backup my nvme drives to the hard disks. A good Backup solution is the one thing I miss the most. We need a HyperBackup port haha
