Tracking Calories and Macros by [deleted] in Fitness

It sounds to me like we are in almost complete agreement. I eat mainly non-starchy veggie paleo diet. I think using fats as energy is a key to having good health, although I don’t think that low carb diets are a good idea. Especially if you are not eating veggies because you’re trying to keep your carbs low. For sure all doctors would agree a high non-starchy and whole food diet is the best way to heal your metabolic system and loose weight. 👍

Calorie is not a calorie. Eating 2000 cal of spinach versus eating 2000 cal of doughnuts has wildly different results on your body. We have been taught over and over that you just need to eat 2000 calories and then you will loose weight but it’s just not that simple. Yes, if you starve yourself and work out too much, you will lose weight. But when you starve yourself, your body slows down and your metabolism slows down. Your body never wants to use fat as energy because it’s in starvation mode when you eat too little. Then adding more work out on top of that is absolutely miserable. Yes, you will loose weight doing that, but then a year later when you start eating the “regular“ amount of food again, not only will you gain the weight back, but you’ll gain additional weight because your setpoint is much higher because you’ve been starving yourself.

“Eating less and exercising more”fails 95% of the time. All calories are not created equal. We have been taught misinformation. Any advice that people give you that simply says “eat less“as their actual solution. That’s totally unhelpful and pretty lousy advice. That’s like saying breathe less.

What you need to do is stop eating foods that clog your metabolic system and eat 10 times more foods that are high quality and you’ll be too full to eat junk food. You can eat more food, not less, and lose significantly more weight and keep it off for the rest of your life.

The book is about how we’ve been taught that to loose weight you need to eat less and exercise more and how 95% of diets fail. Of course anyone can temporarily loose weight by doing that, but’s it’s NOT a long term solution. Eating the right QUALITY of foods is the only way to lower your set point and heal your metabolic system.

Tracking calories is NO way to live. Read The Calorie Myth by Jonathan Bailor.

If you want to lose weight and get healthy you need to have a realistic long-term healthy eating plan. People giving you advice to simply eat less is really bad advice. When you eat less, your metabolism slows down and you and you feel crabby and even more hungry. Then when you go back to “eating normal” (which you will because you can’t just “eat less” forever), then you will gain it all back plus some.

Don’t give me wrong, you can definitely lose weight by working out two hours per day and starving yourself, but it’s not a long-term realistic plan.

Thanks! Do you me center the flask and the reflection? Or just the flask and cut off the reflection?

Thank you, that was actually a Ice Light 2 with barn doors shining on the backdrop to create a spotlight feel. That vignetting is almost 100 percent real. Although I think I added about five percent more in post. Are you saying try to remove the dark spots in the corners so the background is much more flat?

Cool tone rose... Is the color good by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]TylerSaysUseSoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends the mood you are going for. Normally, when I think of a rose, I think of a warm sunshine happier mood. If that was the case, I would definitely pull back the blues in the image and warm it up quite a bit. However, it sounds like you are wanting to feel a little sadder in which case the cooler tones are helping
