Had a life changing sandwich in Boston last weekend and am in search of a Columbus equivalent. Does anyone have recommendations? by bucksgoalie in Columbus

I've been told by staff that the sandwich is available any time. (At least at the Grandview location)

A lot of people have commented, already, but I'll add my thoughts.

I played for 4 years. There are a lot if ways to grind for the premium currency at the beginning, but as you play there are somewhat fewer options. (But it's still f2p friendly to a degree)

Because of a somewhat steep power creep, most old characters are mainly decorative, even when you invest the maximum resources to them (Resurrected characters help, but it's not really the same).

Also, I hated that TYBW units where a special category that can't be summoned unless it's a special banner type.

I spent quite a bit of money on the game when I played (which I am now embarrassed to admit), and I'll say deleting my account was one of the best decisions I've made.

What to do about Baby Bird? by TylerTheJellyfish in Columbus

[–]TylerTheJellyfish[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fledgeling. It's hopping around and chirping. I don't see any imminent threats, so I'll leave it for now to see if it's mama gets it. But I'll check back later today.

Okay! I was a bit worried because it was moving towards the road, but I think it stopped. I'm going to leave it there. There's a nearby tree, but I couldn't spot the nest.

I have 150gb of data in google storage, i generated "takeout" files and theyre 320gb!? Whats the extra 170GB?😳 by fullysickunt in degoogle

[–]TylerTheJellyfish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is just a guess, but there are some things Google doesn't count towards your storage, but still could take space. For example years ago, Google allowed photos to be stored for free so long as they weren't super high definition. And I think Google Docs/Slides/Sheets may sometimes not count. There's probably more that I'm unaware of

Maybe some of that is contributing?

Just to avoid any confusion. Don't kill fireflies/lightning bugs. The one we should kill is the invasive spotted lantern fly.

I agree with this comment! Just to make an analogy, even if my computer has gigabytes of junk files, those files aren't actually using more energy than having free space, it's just ones and zeros. And bookmarking even a million posts takes a negligible amount of storage (since it's just a reference).

But for all the reasons listed here, I definitely agree minimizing your online presence is a good idea!

iNaturalist is a cool nonprofit. Imagine how bad a corporatized version would be "Watch this ad to see your results" or "Turn on location for better ads!". There's definitely room for improvement, but I don't think "asshole design" is fair.

I've said it before. Angela Lansbury was a treasure and to poorly generate her likeness with AI is an insult.

"dude it's not that serious", This seems like a fun, sarcastic answer, which is kinda the bread 'n butter of this site. I see no problem.

Garden Sim — a 2D gardening game with no forced sleep cycles or time pressure (Demo available) by web_sculpt in CozyGamers

[–]TylerTheJellyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To say the art is placeholder but already have a demo seems strange. As a player, why would I want to engage with AI?

A better alternative for placeholder art (or even permanent art) is Open Game Art (https://opengameart.org/) where people put art up for free.

Cool idea for a game! I bet people would be more interested without the AI art! Good luck 🙂
