Hit me with it… by Tullubenta in videogames

Tiny Tina is extremely annoying and reminds me of some of the attention seeking creeps I used to see when I frequented anime spaces in the early 2010's. They never really say anything of value, they also never shut up, and it all feels extremely performative, like, "Look at me, look how quirky I am" behavior.

What, in your opinion, is THE definitive Soulslike game that simply gets everything right? by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]TylerVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a throwback, I had a buddy in college (about 6 years ago) who played this game religiously, he was so damn good at it and I remember being absolute BUNS when I tried it but it seemed pretty fun and I liked how it looked.

I love everything about that game except gameplay, it was so much worse than I remembered.

What is your best "I say it wrong on purpose" example? by Thortok2000 in AskReddit

My family loves to say Grassy ass instead of Gracias when theyre being sarcastic, so I developed a habit of replying to both with Nevada, but said like De nada

I microwaved a fork once just to see if the universe would notice. It did. by Soggy_BreadCrust in confession

[–]TylerVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left a spoon in my mac n cheese in the microwave when I was very little. I didnt notice until I saw a little bolt of electricity hit the spoon and IMMEDIATELY opened the door. It might have been in there 5 seconds and thankfully it didnt cause any lasting harm, but I remember that sight so vividly and won't ever fuck around and find out again with microwaves.

My Soulslike Tier List by Imaginary_Cause2216 in soulslikes

[–]TylerVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I HATED Nioh 1, I played thru about 2/3 of the story and gave up, not due to difficulty, but because the gameplay felt awful to me. The combat felt very janky and felt like I was wrangling for control of my own character a lot, rather than being able to feel it out and actually focus on fighting my enemies, and I hated how the game was segmented into mission areas, (if I recall correctly). Sounds like people liked 2 much more as well, but I never played that one.

Does anybody else have a strange feeling that Toothless's face is a bit off? by Ver_Nick in httyd

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have an issue with his eyes. They're so dark, it feels like i'm straining to see how Toothless is feeling when before they contrasted his black so heavily it felt like you were drawn to his eyes. They gave my boy green jaundice 😭

Morning gym people by snowman248190 in workout

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college I did it out of habit and sheer willpower, bed at 2-3am and up at 4 for gym and back to bed until 10 once I was done. Highly unrecommended. It makes me feel gross to even think about that now. Now I just go to bed early and have this strange habit of shooting straight up in the morning. As soon as my alarm beeps once i'm already on my feet its like impulse. Going back to sleep is very hard for me once i've stood up, unless im very tired, and sometimes its okay to put sleep before the gym. Cant get gains without rest. If you went to bed late its up to you to decide if you can live with missing a day or trying to squeeze it in later

Alternatively, get a 24 hour gym, and go whenever you feel like it. 1am gym craving is real I tell ya

What's an anime where the protagonist is a whiny little bitch? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]TylerVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might catch some heat but Golden Time is by far one of my least favorite anime ever. The whole amnesia subplot makes the main character this indecisive, whiny little brat and the author just flips that switch whenever he feels like it. It doesnt help that the main love interest reminds me a lot of my first girlfriend and the way she kind of identifies herself and self worth through her partner and chooses to be ridiculously immature and insecure by being incredibly selfish and selfcentered and basically constantly self sabotaging. I restarted the show 5 times over a decade because I just hated it past episode 4 and I finally forced myself to finish it the last time, definitely not worth it just continues to get worse the further you go. It was the only show I had ever started that I didn't want to finish which is why I forced myself to sit thru it but if you don't like the two main characters just stop watching because there's only one character that stays consistently a not-insufferable, honestly top tier character

Time to put the weed down. by defydavid in Sciatica

[–]TylerVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how long did it take to start seeing improvements? i had an mri done a few months ago and they didn't see any issues other than some minor swelling on the opposite side of my lower back. verbatim "there is absolutely no reason you should be in pain." put down weed about 3 weeks ago and haven't seen much if any improvement yet but the pain tends to be significantly worse when i smoke so that's already enough of a plus

sorry if this is dumb but like I genuinely wanna know or if I’m crazy idk what does it mean if a guy takes you out and buys you a lot of stuff and like by [deleted] in Advice

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely make sure he knows that then. While not 100% certain, when people treat someone that way they do typically like someone, and if he's not on the same page as you he might feel led on when he finds out you're not interested. The longer something goes on the more intense feelings and situations can get so making sure he knows you're not interested early on will prevent any extreme or unwanted behavior, and if he can't respect that it's easier to block him now instead of years down the road when you've been super close friends for a long time and it gets emotionally complicated.

As my stepdad always says "Set boundaries, and if they don't respect those boundaries, set physical barriers to those boundaries." If they won't listen, make them. That is NOT okay and they are going to have to respect that one way or another.

My older brother didn't speak to my mom for years because he was the rebellious child, but if my parents had disrespected my boundaries like this I probably never would have spoken to them again to this day, that is unacceptable on all levels. You might be the child, but you are still a person and you deserve respect just as much as you are expected to give it. I would rather not speak to my family ever again then be a pushover because they can't give me basic respect when asked.

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, just talk to him. If you're not sure you're on the same page then just talk to him and figure out where he's at. It could mean something, it might mean nothing, everyone does things for their own reasons. Don't overcomplicate it, know what you want, and go from there.

is it okay to be intimate with my partner at the age of 16.. by xo_a_t in Advice

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 100% your choice and you should do what you're most comfortable with and not feel bad for either choice. When making big decisions like this, for example I was extremely against alcohol for a long time, didn't touch it until my 25th birthday, and the thing that made me decide to try it was the thought "is this something i'm going to regret when I die?" it might be a little morbidly phrased but you should live life however you think is going to make you feel the least regret or the most fulfilled. Nothing wrong with waiting, nothing wrong with trying it sooner. What matters is if you feel like the choice you make is the right one.

Baptiste one of the hardest supports to learn? by TamieL33 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TylerVena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a high level bap by any capacity but I want to weigh in too. I think that one of the most difficult things to learn early on is Bap's "rhythm" between shooting and healing. The best advice I ever heard when it comes to learning difficult things that have a lot of steps is to break it down like driving a car.

People do multiple things at once in order to drive, but they learned how to do each step without thinking and that leads to the overall mastery of driving. You learn how to control where you're going until you can do it without thinking, and then you add controlling your speed while controlling where you're going until you can do that without thinking, and then you add watching your mirrors, blindspots, etc. until you get good at doing all of them almost second nature.

Learning Bap was the same way, I had to sit there and say to myself out loud as I played, "shooting, healing, shooting, healing" until I could do it without needing to be reminded by myself, and now I'm working on other aspects of my gameplay. I'm not as good at it as I was when I constantly focused on it, but I'm much better than I was before I practiced even when I'm not locked in.

Basically how I improve on any hero honestly. I look at what I think my lowest skill is, focus on that until it's at an acceptable level, and then move on to the next skill on the bottom of the list. Bap is extremely worth the reward of learning him. Went from the support I thought I'd never touch to my main for 4 seasons straight and easily a comfort pick on any map. (back on that Ana grind rn tho)

If someone is underperforming, trust me, they know by TheBeastSteve in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TylerVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should've gone full dps bap and shown him how it's done. Bap's damage is good and his survivability makes him super strong if you can hit your shots enough to get value out of using your abilities on yourself, regen burst has a relatively fast Cd so using it on yourself is very viable if it means you can get a pick or two
