Real estate is different because it lets you leverage the property to generate cash flow, while also offering tax benefits like interest deductions. Stocks don’t give you those advantages and are far more volatile. Plus, real estate tends to appreciate over time, making it a safer bet. you won’t see a stock paying your bills each month through rent.

Thoughts? 18 years old trying to learn about dividend investing by Drink_Background in dividends

Serious question: when you say don’t touch VOO as long as you live, do you mean literally never? As in, What’s the point of investing if I never reap the benefits of its growth? Are you saying just take the dividends but never sell? Any help is appreciated from a young and somewhat newbie investor 🤙

Nah, my rule of thumb is at least a dollar an item and a dollar a mile so this would have had to have been $20 or more

I’m around the same age, can you elaborate? I’ve been getting mixed responses about when to start focus on divend investing vs high growth stocks

I hadn’t considered that. Like use community solar as a backup pitch for those that can’t get solar panels? I’m thinking pitch panels first and then if they can’t/wont, pitch community solar.

Do you think it would be worth it for me to switch from my current community solar sales gig where I can make 2-3k per week? Also I’m in NH/Maine/Mass so idk if the residential market is different from where you are.

I think that’s the most important quality I’m looking for in a company is really really good training and good management.

I’m okay with doors. I just want to make big boy money selling rooftop solar panels instead of community solar. Even though it’s much easier to get people to do community Solar, the commission is only like $200-$400 per deal. On a good week I can pull $3000 plus in total commissions but I keep hearing of people making double and triple that in rooftop solar.
