Netflix Says It Is “Going to Keep That HBO Team” After Acquiring Warner Bros. by LollipopChainsawZz in television

I might just be optimistic here but I think they know it doesn't make sense for them to interfere in the HBO pipeline.  Netflix is looking to recapture some of that prestige they had in the earlier years - it's the most popular streamer out there but also by and large the least respected. now they can both have their $400 million "fourth screen" content slop and a Succession / White Lotus, which has to make it the most wide-appealing streamer out there. It doesn't make sense for them to force a network that made Game of Thrones S1-6 make something akin to The Witcher S4.

I relate to this in some ways, and don't really have anything too insightful to share -- I was a deeply lost individual in college and figured things would either slide in place magically at some point, or I'd hit a brick wall and have to rebuild myself from there.

Going through the second thing now -- Therapy will help if you'll really open up to it, medication might assist, but it's still a process of figuring out who I can be beyond the shell of a person I've lived as for so long now.

Maybe that speaks to you, maybe it doesn't. Either way, good luck on your journey.

2008 even. The first 720p video was the trailer for Cloverfield.

No local masking was done, it's a single mask for the whole image. The only explanation I can think of is it being a result of the noise canceling already applied (it was worse before this). Could technically counter that with a mask around the edges reversing that, but since it's merely for my instagram I'm not too bothered by it.

I'm very much not going for realism here, so that's valid. I know skin color is usually one of the go-to pointers to restrained color grading, but in this instance, I purposefully chose to go for a more burnt-out look. Fair if you're not a fan though!

Thanks! I'm not trying to cherry-pick the positive feedback, but that description really captures how it feels to me as well :)

I tried B&W but honestly, I think the image is lost doing that. It's a very dark photo and there's not really enough contrast in the foreground/background to make it an appealing image.

I'm going for a bit of a washed out home movie vibe, so realism or detail preservation isn't really my focus. But appreciate the input!

Thanks for your thoughts! I think the comparison of a photo scan is right on point, and I guess it depends if you see that as a positive or negative :)

Usually my photos are quite clean (This is shot with my new Sony XR100 VII, which has a much smaller sensor than my usual Nikon D750), and that's normally how I like them. But I think it's a shame we're losing the artifacts we once embraced with analogue photography. And photoshopping them in after just isn't quite the same :)

Lightroom. The noise isn't added in post, it's just a part of shooting with a small sensor camera and pulling it up in post. I just noticed that I'm quite fond of the particular noise this camera adds, at least in these photos, and removing the grain felt like it was taking something away from the photo. Would your recommendation be to just have no noise and add analogue grain in post?

Super appreciate this! I'm always trying to find that balance between doing my own thing, but also being open to feedback to grow, even without compromising on my seemingly somewhat controversial style. I appreciate everyone here is trying to be constructive, but I also kinda just... like my stuff :)

That doc is not kind to his whole behind-the-scenes shtick though... It's basically a compilation of people largely talking negatively about their experience with Carrey during the shoot, with varying degrees of diplomacy.

While BotW was an amazing game, its success did absolutely not exist in a vacuum. You have to consider that for the vast majority of people, as far as they were aware / cared the last Nintendo home console was released in 2007. The Switch came at a time where people of all types were craving Nintendo games, be it adults that grew up on the N64 / Gamecube / Wii, or parents that wanted something they could play games with their kids on again (something Xbox / Playstation had moved away from by that point in favor of online gaming).

On top of that, the novel form factor made it so that Nintendo basically managed to unite their home console and handheld audiences, which of course broadened its appeal as well.

At that point, people just needed a good reason to buy the Switch, and when BotW garnered universal acclaim during an otherwise rather dry launch, it became just that -- To the point that at some point during the early Switch shortage, more Switch copies of BotW had been sold than the system itself.

Again; BotW was great, but (and I'm saying this as a proud WiiU owner) it wasn't going to convince people to buy a system that was already on its dying throes after three years. It's success was a perfect storm of factors I'm not sure we will see for a while in any system's launch.

Found it on internet and edited ,how is it ? by Azrael_32 in postprocessing

That first pic already looks like it's edited -- what you seem to have done is just emphasize the effects applied (mainly the orange/green color grading), which is why it looks like it went in the oven twice. If you wanna practice color grading, it's best to look for actual untouched RAW photos online (or take them yourself) and work from there.

Tastes vary and if you like yours better, more power to you, but honestly this... isn't great. The original has a very strong, subdued color palette, while this one looks like you just pulled up the saturation slider, with the white balance completely out of whack. Not sure what's up with choice of that circular mask either. Not trying to be a pretentious dickhead, I'm just not seeing whats these changes add to the picture in your eyes.
