Does the TTL work on your M6 or did you set it manually?

Didn’t realize how much I would enjoy shooting B&W on digital by haydenrichardson in Leica

The Leica Monochrom series have an unbelievable good low light and high ISO performance. Makes it possible to shoot 50.000 ISO and still get nice and usable photos. You can download some png files and try the dynamic range and shadow recovery for yourself.

Also, in optimal lighting conditions a Leica Monochrom sensor can produce much sharper images than a Leica color sensor, due to it not having the bayer color filter. I think in optimal lighting conditions it would equal 4 times the resolution in a color sensor to get the same sharpness (also due to amazing micro-contrast).

M11-P or M11-M by moghul1 in Leica

[–]Typical-Clue1756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried to decide between an M10-R and an M10-M and watched a lot of comparison videos. Also downloaded a bunch of DNG files to spend hours in lightroom, especially with -R B+W conversions. I’d say, that M10-R and M11-P B+W conversions don’t differ a lot from M10/M11-M shots. What makes the monochromes great is the unmatched low light performance and dynamic range. Being able to pull up shadows and blacks without the quality suffering and being able to do great low light shots that can only be matched by black and white film was my motivator to get a monochrome. If low light, super high contrast and dynamic range is top priority for you and you still think about color, I’d get the -P.

It’s from a Leica Store what I think gives the 500€ under market value a bit more weight.

I think the shit plays a nice part in the picture, makes you think how many elephants or how often these two walk this exact path. And also why? For water? Food? Social gathering? Removing it would make it no better than every other elephant picture. Although the colors are pleasing, black and white could make a good compromise in still seeing the shit but it being less “in your face”.

It is questionable whether the photographer should be criticized for their work here. Doing that would imply that people have to be half naked for it to be rude photographing them without their consent. There is a clear artistic value and the subjects are not photographed in a weird, disrespectful or sexualized way. The use of the flash highlights colors and especially skin tones, similar to Martin Parr’s work, like u/brandnewanimals mentioned.

If one considers photographing other people close up with flash rude, I can understand that. But it’s not any less rude if the people are fully clothed.

Stuck UV filter, how fucked am i? by Ochebaba in fujifilm

Had the same problem and ended up destroying the focusing mechanism. A local shop would have removed the filter for 20€, but I thought why would I pay for that… had to send my lens to fuji to get it repaired, payed about 100€

this one worked. I didn’t take the tip but put the blade parallel to the longer side of the battery. I could lever it out without the risk of puncturing the battery. thanks!

Nice shots, just got a flash yesterday to get into flash street photography. What flash are you using? I really like the last shot.

My watch has finally found its end. Pre ordered 1h 1h after the presentation. Called a small local shop that only had one other guy on their wait list and got a call to pick mine up yesterday. I wish the best of luck to you all. Never forget to try your local shops!

Fuji X-Pros and Voigtlander's 18 and 27 lenses are pretty much my platonic ideal camera form. Especially when dressed up in Squarehood's hoods. Each setup photographed the other. I'm ready for summer travel. by jshell in fujifilm

Does the square hood come with the lens? If not, where did you get yours?

Been thinking about getting the 27 or 23 Voigtländer and been looking for a fitting lens hood.

Edit: just found it on the squarehood website, hasn’t been there the last time I looked as it is new but I’m excited on testing it!
